We had the most fun we have had in years. Hunter was incredible and made us feel as we were a guest in his home. I truly can say at almost 60 years old he made me the best cocktail I have ever had. The only downfall is we don’t live closer. I highly recommend this hidden gem. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and had a fabulous time. I believe the cocktail was called the Jade index.

What a cool place! Been wanting to try this place out for a couple of years and finally got there. You have to enter from the back alley way off Main St in Franklin near Mellow Mushroom. In order to get inside, you have to pull a Frankenstein switch which activates a green light and someone will come get you and escorted you inside. So cool! Inside the place is dark and cozy, decked out prohibition style. The cocktails are undeniably creative and amazing. The bartender staff is friendly, and will walk you through the menu to answer questions and to offer their favorites. The snacks are good, too. Will definitely be back as there so many cocktails to try!

Amendment 18 in downtown Franklin is an absolute gem. Tucked right into the heart of Main Street, it brings a sophisticated speakeasy vibe that feels both elevated and welcoming at the same time.
The cocktail program is exceptional, thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the bartenders take real pride in their work. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic or something inventive, every drink feels intentional and high-level.
The ambiance is intimate, stylish, and ideal for date nights, meeting friends, or winding down after dinner downtown. Service is professional, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive.
If you’re looking for one of the best cocktail experiences in downtown Franklin, Amendment 18 is a must-visit. It consistently delivers an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere that keeps you coming back.

I’m now a regular! I love, love the speakeasy vibe. The drinks are fabulous, the bartenders are talented and the management and team are very observant and quick to protect their patrons from unwanted attention. I always recommend them to customers. Tyler is my #1 bartender followed closely by Dave.

This was my second visit to The Amendment, and unfortunately the experience was far from decent.

I came on a Thursday night after my friend filmed his comedy special and arrived early with a group of about 10 people. We showed up around 8:00 PM, and at that time there were only about four other guests in the entire place. You would think a group ready to sit, drink, and spend money would be welcomed.

I arrived early specifically to grab a table, and from the start we were met by an extremely unfriendly host who genuinely seemed like she didn’t want us there. I suggested we take two side tables since people would be sitting and standing, socializing, ordering drinks, and spending money. I was immediately told this “wasn’t a standing bar” and that if we wanted to stand, we should go to a dive bar down the street. This was odd considering we fully intended to drink premium liquor and order food.

It took at least 10 minutes before anyone even approached us. Eventually the bartender came to the table, but ordering was slow and awkward. At one point he started speaking in what felt like a fake accent, to the point where I genuinely thought he was speaking Spanish to me, which was uncomfortable and confusing.

Drinks took 20–30 minutes to arrive. I also ordered appetizers for the group, but after waiting quite a while, I asked about the food and was told the order was never put in.

As the rest of the party arrived, their drink orders weren’t taken until nearly an hour into being there.

When it came time to close out, things somehow got worse. Items appeared on my check that were not mine. I was told they were removed, but the reprinted check still showed the incorrect charges. I was then told the items would be “moved to someone else’s tab” and that I wouldn’t be charged, but I refused to sign anything without a correct receipt reflecting only my actual order. That should never be an argument a guest has to have.

Despite all of this, we still stayed, drank multiple rounds, and spent a significant amount of money. I tipped, but honestly felt like I shouldn’t have.

I’ve worked in the bar industry for over 10 years, and this level of service was shocking. Between the attitude, the delays, the forgotten food, and the billing issues, the entire night was poorly handled. I wanted to like this place, but based on two visits, I won’t be returning.

This is such a cool hidden gem. This place really takes you back in time. The cocktails are made with in-house syrups and bitters made fresh daily. The variety of cocktails and drink options were great. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a Tuesday night out.

This is a super cute speakeasy with very kind and considerate staff & incredible drinks and food! However,

I tried to come here with friends for my 23rd birthday and got denied because I have a vertical ID. I’m from Texas where we are not required to get horizontal IDs at 21, and I have never heard of this rule anywhere else in Tennessee or any state honestly. The very sweet waiter told us that it was because of new management and that if you have a vertical ID you have to have your passport or they will not serve you.

I’m really disappointed because I was excited to spend my birthday here & excited to show my friends such a cute spot! But definitely something that to consider. We had a party of 5 and left after they denied us, without ordering any drinks, so I do think this unfortunately will cause them to lose business.

The best vibe in the Nashville area! This speakeasy has the secret door, the tin roof, the chandeleir, the mood lighting, the music, and THE BEST original cocktails! The staff is amazing! Friendly and a skill level of 1000! Seriously, it’s the best!

Downtown Franklin needed a speakeasy, and this place fits the bill. Highly recommend, really good drinks and good customer service. Only been here once so far, but definitely plan to come back. My friends and I all had positive experiences with our drinks, although not every drink is worth five stars, but on the whole good vibes.
