The three of us shared the duck tacos, burger, beet salad, and esquites, and everything was outstanding. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care.
To top it off, Margaux, the pastry chef, stopped by with a mango tatin at the end of dinner, such a sweet and friendly touch. Chef Spencer also came by our table to check in, which made the experience feel even more personal.
Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the food is truly incredible. Highly recommend.
Mexican food meets French (more Mexican) and it was great! Highly recommend the chilaquiles.
The warm, sun-themed ambiance is so cute, especially on a cold, cloudy weekend morning when we visited. Our server was this lovely French woman who, turns out, is the co-owner with the chef who is Mexican (makes so much sense).
The brunch was delicious and a well kept secret
It’s a very cozy establishment, so don’t expect the largest restaurant on the block. It’s warm and well-lit, and you will quickly realize the owner-couple are the only staff. From what little could be seen of the kitchen from our seats at a table for 4, everything was very clean and well-prepped.
We arrived at 7:30 and left at 9:45. We went on to order almost the entire menu (everything aside from the steak and burger). Each dish came out 5-10 minutes after another, and I had asked for ~20-25 minutes in between each round of courses (starters to entrees to dessert).
Everything was incredible, from start to finish. You cannot go wrong with any menu item.
The Chismosa drink felt like biting into a perfect citrus. The goat cheese, beat and citrus salad was refreshing and clean. As someone who’s not a big fan of sashimi/raw fish, the tuna tartare on the tostadas was lovely. The duck tacos were beautifully smooth and comforting to bite into, and the cod melted in your mouth. We could not get enough of the sauce it was in. The esquites au gratin is nothing like I’ve ever had before and we were scraping the sides of the bowl for more.
If the dinner wasn’t already stellar, their three desserts are incredible fun takes on classics. The creme brûlée is not too sweet, and you can tell it’s infused with corn. The chocolate mousse was one of the best things I’ve ever had in the city, with this spicy sweet caramel to dip into.
The owners both came out to serve us and were just so lovely to chat with. They both clearly have given their all to this business, and you can taste the love in every bite.
I will definitely be back to try the brunch menu. Cannot recommend enough!
The cherry tomatoes in the salad were unbelievably good, the burger was perfectly cooked, and the gratin was topped with this broiled slice of cheese that was so fun.
Everyone should go here.
Editing 2/27 to say I’ve been here at least a dozen times since and everything is amazing.
The service and atmosphere were great. The French co-owner who does front of the house is super sweet and fun to talk to. And the decoration inside is really nice. Comfortable cute bar too. I’ll be back for the dinner menu!
