Thelma’s Kitchen is definitely off the beaten path. And it is very unassuming. It was the only restaurant open in town on Sunday and it was right after church so the whole town was here. The catfish is very crispy, juicy and well seasoned. The Mac and cheese is pretty good. The collard greens were pretty good. The cornbread was a little dry and the sweet tea is perfect. The prices are reasonable and the staff are so friendly and hospitable.

We love trying new places on road trips. This dining experience is definitely at the top of our list. BEST PORK CHOP EVER!!! All of it was amazing. And we even got to meet Thelma in person when she came to ask us if we needed refills. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food! If if if any of you are in the Mississippi area or passing through, do NOT let this place pass you by! I ordered my food in a to go box with the thought of eating some on the road…it was soOoOo good I ate it all right there at the restaurant!!!!! The service here is the true definition of southern hospitality! The family that owns/operates this restaurant will make you feel like apart of the family so quick. My kids didn’t speak during lunch, that’s unheard of for 8boys! The boys were so busy eating and each of them had clean plates! The chicken is so moist inside and the breading is seasoned so good and crispy! Everything is seasoned so nicely…If I could give over 5stars I would!

Road tripping from Nebraska and really glad we stumbled upon Thelma’s. Saturday lunch featured choice of ribs, rib tips, sausage or bbq chicken with three sides (Mac and cheese, green beans, baked beans, pasta salad). Everything had amazing flavor. Even the green beans had a little zip to them. Highly recommend for a sample of down home Mississippi!
