First time diner here at Little Tokyo. The atmosphere was excellent. I like the separate rooms for dining, to give that intimate or special feeling. It was nice to see the chefs army work behind the counter. Every one of the servers were very pleasant and brought the food quickly. The portions were large. I had the sesame chicken and vegetables with white rice and a side salad. I really enjoyed my meal. The portions are generous so there was food to take home. Give them a try. I’m not a fan of sushi, but if you are…this is the place to be.

The food was great! The sushi was fresh, well crafted. Eel Donburi was exceptional! A must try and I would come back for that.
The service however left a sour taste. Firstly, we had to ask several times for basic things like small plate, spoon for dessert. The server even missed to serve the miso soup that should have come with the Eel Donburi. I ultimately gave up after finishing my meal, and that’s when he offered to serve it! You can’t expect that to be acceptable.
I would love for a place with such good food to thrive and I hope they will get their act together with the service.

Best sushi I’ve had since I moved away from Wilmington a decade ago. Nigiri had big cuts of fish, tasted clean and fresh, melt in your mouth, amazing. Maybe the best pork Gyoza I’ve ever had. Service was excellent and atmosphere was quiet and felt authentic. What a gem of a place! My first time here but will be back and bringing family and friends for sure! Best sushi place I’ve found in the triad!

I have been a loyal customer of Little Tokyo around 15 years. Years ago, I lived several minutes from Little Tokyo whereas now I live in another county far from the restaurant. Despite the distance, I have been willing to travel here. During this particular visit on 12/29/25, my family was on the way home from celebrating my wife’s birthday out of state. We stopped at Little Tokyo to continue the birthday celebration. As we walked inside, we received rude behavior and a cold greeting from the staff. They looked at each other in a weird way (because they did not want to serve us). At that moment, a male server spoke up and told us that they were about to close. It was close to 8:40pm and they close at 9pm. I have visited this place at times that were later than this and received great service while dining inside the restaurant. In addition, the male server asked us if we wanted takeout. We refused takeout and left the restaurant after the rude body language and awkwardness.
I have been to this restaurant 25+ times. This restaurant was special to me because I became a fan of sushi because of this restaurant. After I brought my wife here, she started loving sushi as well. This restaurant was one of the few places I trusted and enjoyed because I felt appreciated and respected. It was disgusting seeing the facial expressions of the staff when we walked into the restaurant because they were not happy to see us. My youngest daughter was with my wife and I. I am very disappointed that she experienced this. I will never come back here. I look forward to building memories elsewhere.

This is a hidden gem not far away from the overcrowded mess of the Palladium and Wendover Ave. We thoroughly enjoyed the great food and service. The dining room is very clean and peaceful. We will return very soon.

Sometimes, the best meals are the ones you weren’t expecting to have. My wife and I had hoped to check out a new all you can eat sushi place, but both it and the existing AYCE spot had lines out the door. After placing a call to Little Tokyo to confirm they too weren’t filled to capacity, we headed there for our sushi fix, and it made me regret not having visited sooner.
Little Tokyo boasts a pleasant, relaxing ambiance that made it a welcome refuge from the night’s rather intense rain. The menu here is Japanese (sushi, sashimi, hibachi, etc.) albeit with some Korean and Chinese influences. The selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and quite a few of them sounded intriguing. Admittedly, the Italian (a California roll topped with white fish, tomato sauce, and cheese) was a bridge too far even for me.
My wife and I came hungry and went with two apps (steamed dumplings and vegetable gyoza), four rolls, and two misos. The food was, across the board, quite good. Whereas some miso can blast you with salt, Little Tokyo’s broth benefitted from an underlying richness. Our sushi was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. Of the rolls we tried, the Bulgoki (beef, crab, cucumber, and eel sauce) was my favorite.
Prices here are reasonable for the quality of the food (rolls in the low-mid teens, most apps under $10), and severs are polite. The kitchen isn’t lightning fast, but we didn’t find the wait unreasonable.
Based on ratings, I expected “good,” and based on hunger levels and a desire to be out of the rain, I would have settled for “OK.” Little Tokyo, however, ended up being surprisingly great.

I thought the food was great, the atmosphere was nice. The waitress was good at her job to. I’d recommend this place to others looking for sushi or hibachi. It’s nicer than most places like it. It was Tuesday at 6:00 and they were busy which is a good sign.

The food is always tasty! The sushi always seems very fresh, and the habachi is good too. The bento boxes are always fun because you get a little bit of everything! I have a picture of the steak and shrimp bento, but my husband already ate the sushi, which was on the empty empty section in the picture. I had gastric bypass, and they were accommodating and let me order a kids meal with no rice.
It was deffinatly warm in here, but the food and service was worth it.
