Before I started on this review I read what previous customers had to say about their experience to make sure I wasn’t tripping. My husband and I stopped here because the pictures of the food looked good. I ordered tilapia and my husband ordered teriyaki wings. The food was horrible. The sauce on his wings was not good, kinda had a burnt taste and my fish had the fishiest smell to it I have ever smelled. I have never smelled cooked tilapia like that ever. Fish had no flavor. And the fries possibly could have been good but they were to hard. I’m very disappointed. I’ve been eating out all week and this has been the worst food yet!

Absolutely amazing experience at Fatz Shawn Soul Kitchen! The food was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and tasted like true home-style soul food. Every bite was comforting and delicious. And don’t skip dessert—the cheesecake is lovely, smooth, rich, and the perfect way to end the meal. The service was just as great—friendly, welcoming, and fast. HANDS DOWN THE BEST RIBS IN PERRY, GEORGIA. They had great smoke flavor, great tenderness, in the mac & cheese and green beans were excellent as well. The service was perfect, I couldn’t ask for anything more. They were so welcoming and explained their menu without it feeling like a burden. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that loves soul food. I am definitely coming back soon.

I had the pleasure of ordering from Fatz Shawn’s while leading a college tour group of 30 students, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From the moment I reached out with our group’s orders and names, the staff was incredibly responsive and professional. She even followed up the morning of our visit to confirm every detail, which gave me great peace of mind.
Although we arrived slightly later than scheduled, our meals were ready and waiting. Each order was individually labeled and perfectly organized, making distribution quick and seamless. The owners greeted us warmly upon arrival and checked in several times to ensure we had everything we needed.
Not only was the customer service outstanding, but the food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The best testament to the quality? A bus full of high school students quietly enjoying their meals, followed by a collective nap on the way to Atlanta. That level of contentment speaks volumes!

Hidden gem. Skip the chains and the fast food. Don’t ask me nothing about the sides just keep stacking those fried pork chops in front of me! Very friendly staff and Momma is in the kitchen. I promise you I won’t eat nowhere else when we are at the fairgrounds.

Stopped here while on I75, for a bite. Saw the great reviews and because of that we waited 45 minutes for them to open. They were out of pulled pork, beef tips, lettuce, and tomatoes. Main reason for stopping was pulled pork sandwich. We ordered shrimp plate, rib sandwich and catfish sandwich. Shrimp plate with fries and Mac & cheese was good. The rib sandwich was literally a rib and half on bread (bones and all), so I had to debone my sandwich. The fish sandwich was just a piece of fish between to pieces of bread, no fixes. Two picnic benches out side the gas station, so as expected for a food truck. I’ve found some of the best bbq places attached to or near gas stations. Lastly, service was great!

Stopped here on a roadtrip back from Nashville, TN to Orlando, FL & let me tell you, some of the best soul food my boyfriend and I have ever had! It’s right off of the side of Gen Courtney Hodges Blvd, located within the parking lot of Shell. We suggest parking off to the side, ordering & eating in your car before heading back on the road. If you’re a local, I suggest just stopping here for a quick bite or dinner. Delicious food and amazing customer service. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing food!!! Food truck food with restaurant quality! Delicious!!! We had catfish and shrimps, both whole and filets with a variety of sides. The mac and cheese was awesome. The greens were crazy good. The baked beans and okra were delicious, too. After we ate, we ordered more. Not because we were still hungry, but because it was so good that we wanted more. The rib sandwich had the ribs on the bone with a Carolina style sauce, and the sweet potato pie was just the right amount of sweetness.

Alright so have a little good with the bad. They have a wide range of options which is good. I got the smothered pork chops, macaroni, collard greens, and a side of potato salad. The meal also comes with corn bread. The bad first is that the macaroni was dry as pictured, although it had a good flavor and the potato salad was a tad bit salty. Also, the container for additional sides was small. The pork chop came with rice, the meat was well seasoned and the greens were very good. Also, had the lemonade which was delicious. The young man who took my order was very nice so 5 points for service. The cornbread was cornbread, a little dry but he did say they were getting ready to close so that could be the reason for the macaroni as well. Will visit again just to try something different. It’s a food truck in a convenience store parking lot so there is plenty of parking. Also, the number on Google is wrong but the correct number is on the truck shown in picture. If you want some soul food, give them a try

We stopped here on our way home from Orlando & when I say everything was amazing! I doubled back for a plate to have for dinner that evening! The wings, the cabbage, the baked beans, the collard greens, the smothered chicken, the fish & both the tea & lemonade was on point! Customer Service A1! It’s been a long time I’ve come across a business where the atmosphere, service, & food was consistent across the board! If you’re thinking about stopping by don’t think twice! Worth it all! Didn’t get many pictures!
