Usually I always have a good experience when I go to Panera and the food is great, but this visit wasn’t the best. We waited over an hour for our food even though it wasn’t that busy. I also noticed an electric fireplace with exposed wires, which made me nervous since I was letting my two year old walk around he could’ve easily grabbed them. The bathroom sinks were also kind of dirty. Hopefully, this was just an off day, because I normally really enjoy coming here.

We came here for a late lunch today. It wasn’t Busy and there was a short line so that was nice. The food is amazing and always is here. We didn’t wait too long for our food.

Unfortunately, All of the workers, including managers look absolutely miserable And looks like they hate their jobs. The dining area is absolutely disgusting. There Is food embedded in every single one of the seats. All of the tables have food all over them along with the bases of the tables. The floors are absolutely disgusting. I lost my appetite very fast. I planned on sitting in here with my lunch to relax and study for a couple of hours to get out of the house and I didn’t get to do much relaxing.

We ordered our food to be ready at 11:10 am and we ordered it at 915 in the morning. So plenty of notice. Our order was not ready until 1125 and that was after talking to the manager. No apologies for being behind and a snippy young lady that said we had a huge order and should have ordered through catering. We ordered 3 pick 2 sandwich and salads.
The sandwiches were ready long before the salads and by the time we got our order they were like warm.
At least this time they actually got the order correct

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Panera Bread in Springfield, Oregon, tonight.

I took a pregnant friend through the drive-thru to order macaroni and cheese, bread, and water. We waited over 25 minutes in the drive-thru line. While waiting at the window, I personally witnessed an employee handling a cleaning solution and a squeegee with her bare hands, not washing her hands afterward, wiping them on her clothing, and then bagging our food. She directly handled the bread with those unwashed hands.

The food itself was also concerning. The macaroni and cheese was cold, raising serious concerns about food safety and temperature control for a dish that should be served hot. The bread appeared contaminated and could not be eaten. Our to-go bag also lacked utensils or napkins, and I had to request the water that came with our order.

Because of what I observed, I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager to report these health and food safety concerns. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. I was told, “I’ll talk to them,” with no acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation.

Between the unsanitary food handling practices and the cold food being served, I would strongly caution against eating at this location if you’re concerned about food safety or contamination.

Normally my experience is better but this time I paid for a green goddess salad and got this. It was more than half iceberg lettuce, a few pieces of still frozen chicken, half an egg and a couple tomatoes. It’s supposed to be all mixed greens and have avocado and bacon which I got none of. Very disappointed. They should have told me and I would have ordered something else. Was way too expensive to get this lol

Panera Bread is always our go-to place. Our family comes here often, and we always enjoy it. Good food, a good atmosphere, and a comfortable place for family time. We truly love coming back.

I ordered a half an italian toasted sandwich. Menu price was $9 and some change for a whole sandwich. Worker at the window charged us $11.49 for a half a sandwich. We brought the menu price to her attention and she refused to honor the advertised price, stating they updated their prices but not the menu. This is false advertisement and very unprofessional. We will not be coming back.

We used to love eating at the Gateway Panera in Springfield; however, over the past few months, the quality has gone down significantly. We would eat there about 2 to 3 times per month. For the past few months, when we ordered the Mediterranean Greens with Grains, they were out of several of the ingredients to make the salad. Once, they completely left off the chicken. Since we get it as take-out, we didn’t discover this until we got home. Dinner ruined. The last time we visited was September 24, 2025. There were no cashiers working, could only order by kiosk. They were out of 3 essential ingredients to make this salad. We give up. Went next door to Noodles, instead. And I think we are done with this place. What is up with running out of supplies so often? Is it a management issue? I doubt this place will remain in business much longer at this rate.

I’ve loved Panera’s broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl since I was 4, I find the customization options on the app to be easy and tasty. The Greek salad always slaps with a chipotle avacado sandwich, the French onion soup and my favorite drink is the passion papaya tea DELICIOUS! A girl that works the window named Erika is amazing at explaining the menu if I have any questions she is super knowledgeable in helping me. Love this place and absolutely will be coming back

Pros:

Overall the interior of this place was good.
Food was made freshly and this is one of the reasons why I pick Panera. The fresh ingredients don’t make you feel refreshed rather than groggy. I recommend the chicken sandwich here it’s quiet tasty.

Cons: cost is definitely overpriced here. I also had an issue with the Asian sesame salad. Yes the ingredients were fresh but all they did to make it Asian was add crotons and sesame seeds and sliced almonds. There wasn’t any flavor added to actual make it unique to the Asian cuisine.
