Located inside of Silver Palm @Ritz Carlton, and they provide a complimentary valet parking upon arrival at the property. As for the dinner, started with hot SAKE and ordered some sashimi, edamame & poke. Then had some sushi rolls like caterpillar, snapper, dragon & spicy tuna and finished with Chocolate Bonsai, yuuumm. The fresh wasabi was a nice touch, as they grated the wasabi root on the oroshigane/sharkskin right by the table. Overall everything was delicious, and the service was seamlessly integrated. Highly recommend!!!

We had dinner here for our last night on the island and it didn’t disappoint! The cocktails were incredible and the edamame was so flavorful. Every roll we shared was delicious and the fresh wasabi really took it over the top. However, the best part of our experience was absolutely the staff. Our 14 month old son was with us and they were so accommodating to him from the high chair to making sure his kids meal (an excellent grilled cheese) came out first. He was in a good mood and waiving at everyone including the sommelier who came over just to say hi to him and check if we needed anything! At the end of the meal they even gave him a stuffed turtle that we named Taikun and he’s slept with it every night since we got home. Thank you Dima and Larissa for a wonderful experience and for being so kind to Jack!

For the reference of food, pictures attached below. We liked the restaurant has reddish (fresh wasabi). The volcano, spicy tuna tataki, rainbow & duck bao taste good. But it’s better to make an earlier reservation, we came at 7 pm and waited for an hour.

Taikun, located in the Ritz Hotel of the Cayman Islands, offers an upscale sushi experience that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. Known for its refined atmosphere and impeccable service, this restaurant sets itself apart as a top destination for sushi enthusiasts and fine dining lovers alike.

The menu at Taikun showcases a wide variety of fresh, expertly crafted sushi and sashimi, highlighting premium ingredients sourced both locally and internationally. Signature rolls and Special Rolls, stand out for their creativity and balance of flavors. For those seeking a more interactive experience, the tableside wasabi preparation using fresh root adds a unique touch, enhancing the authenticity of the meal.

The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, with a sleek interior design that evokes the sophistication of Japanese aesthetics. Whether you’re seated at the sushi bar or a cozy table, the setting encourages both intimate dining and lively gatherings.

Service is another highlight at Taikun. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, they welcome you with hot towels for cleaning your hands, and are eager to guide guests through the menu, ensuring every detail contributes to a memorable dining experience.

While Taikun is on the pricier side, it delivers exceptional quality and an experience worth indulging in. It’s an excellent choice for special occasions, date nights, or simply treating yourself to some of the best sushi in the Cayman Islands.

Taikun is a must-visit for those who appreciate elevated Japanese cuisine, offering a perfect mix of exquisite food, outstanding service, and a sophisticated setting.

The only disappointment was that they use the same fryer for frying shrimp, fish and pork, meat products, at such an upscale restaurant it’s expected to keep those separated accommodate those who have food allergies or dietary restrictions.

A Cayman Must!

I’ve been coming to Taikun Restaurant for years, and it remains one of the must-visit restaurants in the Cayman Islands. Their recent renovation is a home run — it’s more efficient, has better capacity, and yet they still maintained that warm, cozy atmosphere that makes Taikun special.

The food is consistently exceptional and incredibly fresh. We always enjoy their signature dishes, and the fresh wasabi alone is worth the trip — it’s rare to find and elevates the entire experience. It’s the little touches that set Taikun apart, like the complimentary miso soup with a squeeze of lime… such a simple detail that takes it from good to great.

If you’re visiting Cayman (or live here like we do), book now or you’ll miss out. Taikun continues to prove why it’s one of the best!

Ate in the lounge right outside the Taikun restaurant since it was full most nights. They had live music one of the evenings. Cozy seating with friendly, attentive staff. Large, flavorful portions. Some pics are from the Silver Palm menu as well.

Taikun was phenomenal – a must for anyone visiting the Cayman Islands. Each dish feels carefully curated, from the ceviche to the sushi to the miso caramel cheesecake. Each bite was a delight.

Thank you to Shadz our server & the wonderful team at Taikun for a great experience.

The sushi here will change your life. The Wagyu beef melted in my mouth, the sashimi was like butter, the rolls were delectable, the dessert was a work of art, and the miso soup was the best I’ve ever had in my life (red snapper fish broth omfg)! I did have a reservation for 9 pm, but after hitting the spa, I wanted an early night, so we asked to be sat before our reservation time, and they accomodated us in the lounge area right outside the bar. The waitstaff was kind, knowledgeable, and took wonderful care of us. I’ll make a trip back to the Caymans JUST to eat at Taikun again.

Amazing experience. Our servers were very attentive and kind. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Food is displayed almost as art pieces, and tastes divine. I would recommend the spicy tuna tataki roll, the edamame, and tuna foie gras. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the rich bonsai tree.

All the staff were also amazing, super friendly, and made sure we always had everything we needed! Pretty expensive but the quality matched the price so I highly recommend this restaurant!!
