The food here is prepared with love and always amazing. I had the Enmoladas, and my husband had a steak Tlacoyo, a pork tamale and a chicken tamale, and two sopes. The mole sauce is amazing. We also got guacamole which was on point. Definitely a lovely little place you need to try!

Scrumptious authentic Mexican food for an unbeatable price. This place is a MUST try in the Madison area.

It is a super tiny restaurant with very limited seating (about 10 booths/tables) so if it’s a busy time you will have trouble dining in. However, they have a highly effective take-out system which is what the majority of their orders are.

When eating in you’ll be presented with complimentary chips and salsa. Their salsa is extremely flavorful and has a great spice level.

We ordered the highly rated Chicken Tamales and El Pastor Burrito with Mole- both definitely lived up to the hype. In addition, their rice and beans are so much better than any other place I’ve tried.

The prices are unmatched and the serving sizes are perfect to leave the restaurant feeling satiated.

The service is great, just be patient when the restaurant gets busy. They have a very limited staff. When you’re ready to pay you can walk up to the register.

The parking lot is small but there is street parking in the nearby residential area.

I work at the high school near this restaurant. I decided to try them for lunch. They have a permanent wall board that very clearly outlines different combos that are available. However, when I tried to order a combo they told me that those combos were for students only. Nowhere on the board did I see anything that indicated that these combos were specifically for Madison East Students.
I left without ordering anything and went to another nearby restaurant. I have no problem with them offering a specific menu for Students, but to have it prominently placed on the wall without any disclaimer stating it is only for students, is in my opinion, a bad business model. I likely will never return to this restaurant and I probably would not recommend them to any adult friends..Based on my experience today.

Found this place almost by chance on my latest visit to Madison ,from the outside its hard to tell what it is.I saw no signs advertising a restaurant of any sorts. The place is small with a few booths and tables, the tables and chairs have carved scenery from Puebla a really nice touch imo . The food selection is great but a bit overpriced (5 bucks for a 8 oz glass of horchata Is way to Rich for my blood) . The food the flavor and the recipes are very authentic like actually authentic lol. Portions are very decent and the salsas flavorful no complaints there ,our waitress was very attentive and quick not a bad spot if you’re looking for real authentic Mexican food.
On a side note I noticed that there were a bunch of signs that prohibited students during weekdays or something along those lines so that was “peculiar” .

Confession: I went here 3 days in a week. Monday, I got a quick lunch of chorizo, spinach & mushroom quesadillas (so good!) I came back the next day for the Taco Tuesday special. Then, I dropped by on Thursday for the special on tamales to add to our family dinner. All I can say is fast service, quality food and good prices!

Fifth time here and I still think it’s one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around the entire metro area. Parking out front is easy to access and handicap parking makes it accessible to those in need. They have out-door seating for those that wish to enjoy the outdoors. I’ve had the steak platter, pork tacos, tamales, mole, and couple other dishes, all f them have been the best flavor and generous portions. The tacos are gigantic, you will love them!!! The steak was pretty good and cooked to perfection, not much fat but still plenty of taste for your taste buds.
The horchata had the right amount of flavor, not overpowered and super sugary. Wish they had larger cups as once filled with ice there is not much liquid in the cup, either way this was probable the best horchata I have had in Madison!!!
Taco Tuesday has 1.50 tacos (pretty sure) and on Thursdays they have tamale special, you must try the tamales at all costs, they are so good. They have a few options for salsa, from mild to wild and the chips are warm so I enjoyed some chips and salsa prior to my main dish being delivered
There is a high school on the same block and when school is in session they tend to come here and it gets way full. Not much the owner can do but the parking lot was filthy, seems like some of those customers they have just eat and throw their trash on the floor in the patio area, the wind blows it around and makes the area look trashy,

Very worth checking it out and enjoy some authentic Mexican food!

I’ve eaten here many times. The prices are outstanding. The food is incalculably good. Parking is available on site. Park right next door. Visit and eat without having to tip a server. It’s fantastic and worth your patronage. Go to El sabor de Puebla now.

First time there, we were visiting from Chicago. People from Puebla are know as one of the best making mole so when I saw the restaurant on google I knew for sure we had to try it. I had the enmoladas and my husband had the burrito with mole on top and a quesadilla de flor de calabaza. Quesadilla needed more seasoning but the mole was sweet and that’s the way I like it, server was nice and we had a great time!
