1st time visit. The service was good. Chips and salsa came out right away. We asked for hot sauce, we got a green salsa and hot sauce. The guacamole was good, smallish portion. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and I ordered the veggie fajitas. Large portions. My husband asked for extra tortillas, we got them but were not told it was an additional charge. Overall it was good, not great. Extremely bland. My husband had to salt the steak on his fajitas. I’m not sure how Mexican food has no flavor. It’s very clean. We went around 7:30pm and there were only 2 other tables. Plenty of parking. We’ve tried it – three are so many better Mexican restaurants in KC, we’ll check this one off the list.

Maybe we caught it on a off day, internet was down and only cash payments were being accepted and apparently the bartender had gone home early so the drink selection was minimal at best. They were also out of nuggets on the kids menu so it was kind a compounding of small inconveniences. Hence the rating.

Pros:
Food was still good and arrived in a timely manner.
Staff was very nice and polite
Restaurant was clean

This is my new favorite! There was not one average item that we tried. The deep fried tacos were gigantic. The jalapeño poppers were actually spicy! The fajita steak was extremely flavorful. The best thing may have been the berry margarita…. We’ll definitely be back soon.

It was good! Got the pork chili Verde burrito which said it was chunks of pork, but was really shredded, but tasty!
Husband got the mahi mahi tacos which he said had a smokey taste to them! They should put that in the description, because I didn’t care for it as much as he did. Chris our you g waiter was very sweet! Margaritas we’re good, 2 for $8.00 (12oz)
We’ll go again and try some other stuff!!

Fabulous food! The server was very polite and helpful. The owners and their daughter are the kindest people as well!
When we were there, we asked about the chili relleno being gluten free and the server went back to the kitchen and asked. It is gluten free if they sub out the salsa for the cheese. It was the best chili relleno ever! What is pictured is only half the order…it came with two peppers and the meal is huge…big enough to share for sure! My stepson had a burrito and also thought it was delicious. Absolutely amazing in every way. We highly recommend. Support this fantastic family restaurant!

The shrimp quesadilla was great! The soft taco with beans and rice was delicious. The chips, salsa, and queso were fresh! Everything we ordered was fresh and hot! We will definitely be back to try other menu items!

First I’ll say I’m a huuuuuge Mexican food fan and general foodie… I will drive 2-4 hours just to try a restaurant.
Mexican rice is super important because I eat it with everything Mexican. Their rice was good, not the best but 4/5 good. I like that their food was salted!!! But I like salt so it was perfect for me… if you’re someone whom shouldn’t have tooo much salt, I’m not sure what you’d say of this. The only thing that needed salt was the house chips and salsa but lucky for you, there is salt and pepper on the table for obvious reasons.
I ordered the California Nachos. I’ll admit I was really disappointed when I saw it, but I figured i would give it a try. It was about 10 tortilla chips with beans chicken and cheese on top – not what I imagined, not worth the $11.99 in my opinion but ‍♀️ ‍♀️ Food costs are high, I get it I guess.
My daughter got the Philly cheesesteak burrito.. she described it as “Mid” which means it was just ok. It didn’t blow her away.
My husband got the Mocajete which is usually good no matter where you get it, he had no complaints but he also wasn’t blown away.
The frozen margarita separated as soon as he poured the extra shot of tequila in it.
The cheese dip could’ve used more milk, it got solid pretty quickly. The spinach dip was better, only had a few pieces of spinach in it though.
There are 2 different cheese dips, the white queso and the yellow. The white is was got solid real fast. It was super tasty though don’t get me wrong. As long as you can eat it all in 5-10 minutes.
The yellow queso was pretty good also.
The French fries for the kiddos were good, like McDonald’s fries if you like that.
Those were the cons….
Overall the food was properly spiced and it definitely isn’t the worst restaurant.
It feels like a commercial restaurant which was a little disappointing.
I will stick to my hole in the wall Mexican restaurants.
Oh! Our waiter and waitress was amazing. They checked on us a lot but not too much! A+++ for customer service! Loved it!

Karla, I hope you see this. Are you coming back? We haven’t been in a while and didn’t realize you’d closed. I hope you’re well and everything is okay! If you open again, I’ll be back ASAP for my carne asada street tacos!

Coming back to edit my review. We’ve been coming here for 7 months. This is still my absolute favorite restaurant. I had my birthday dinner here. I always want to go here for date nights. As you can see from my pic, we also get it to go after long days at work.

For the reviews saying the food is bland: I grew up with a Mexican dad. I was always told authentic Mexican food is supposed to be bland. However, I think the flavor is amazing with everything we’ve ever gotten.

Service is always amazing and fast. We’ve never had a bad experience or bad food here.

Original Review: They have the best food! I always get the carne asada street tacos and try whatever my husband gets and it’s always been so good.

My wife and I have talked about going here for a while and tonight was the night! We had their queso dip (creamy and flavorful), the Pollo Azteca and a deep fried taco and we just shared everything. We both agreed that the chicken in the Pollo Azteca was delicious and was seasoned excellently. We even liked the rice, which often feels like a plate filler, but here it was good! The chips and salsa were ok, not bad but not great, which is what gives Casa Grande four stars instead of five in my opinion. The service was good and the staff was friendly and the decor was pleasant. Overall we both enjoyed our meal and thought that we would return.
