From the moment we walked in, we could tell how much care went into everything from the plates and water glasses to the interior design.
Every piece of sushi crafted by the chef was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The plating was beautiful and clean, which made the experience even more special. It’s truly rare to find a place like this in New Jersey. The ingredients were fresh, and we were able to try many unique types of fish that we don’t usually had before in NJ.
We chose the $200 omakase course, which offered a wide variety of dishes, all prepared with great attention to detail.
Even the dessert, handmade by the owner, was absolutely delicious. The warm hospitality made our special day even more memorable.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Cons : would love to have seen a written out menu of everything , it would of helped with the language barrier. Also, high end reusable chop sticks would of been better for this experience instead of the cheap wooden chop sticks that you get with to-go orders. I also would have liked to have gotten more soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger with our courses. We got it served during the first course and then it was taken away. We didn’t have any during the rest of the 15 courses.
$150 omakase for 12 piece sushi, 8 piece sashimi, 1 handroll, 4 appetizers, a soup, roasted green tea, and a dessert. BYOB, but there is no bottle fee.
My appetizers included a sashimi salad (different from the 8pc sashimi mentioned above), fried fish, baby scallop and mussel dish, anchovy and mushroom dish.
Chef Aoki prepares each piece gracefully and explains to you individually the origin of the piece, all of which are imported daily from Japan. Aoki’s wife is the only other employee in the house. Yes, I say house because the ambience of the environment is very homely. You can see shelves on the walls with the plates, homely Japanese music is playing at a soft volume, and the husband and wife treat you as if you were their esteemed friends and houseguests.
Each piece tastes as fresh as it can get, and service is superb. Aoki’s wife will replace your tea as it gets lukewarm without even having to ask.
Highly recommended for a date or for a single person. I went solo and did not feel uncomfortable.
