We are a locally family owned and operated business that strives to provide great food and service to our customers. This is our third restaurant and we are excited to be in the Alba area and can’t wait to meet all of the great people around here. Most of our recipes are homemade and have been in our family for a long time, and we also use these recipes at our other two locations. This is one of our favorite places to eat! If you enjoy fried fish, you need to check this place out! Expect the place to be busy…because everyone in the tri-county area knows about it and wants to be at the front of the line when the doors open. The fish is delicious, the shrimp as well, seasoned and cooked just right…and you’ll be waiting for the tongs to get some and probably get silently impatient with the person in front of you just loading up their plate. But don’t worry! The staff is prompt and diligent, working behind the scenes to keep the hot food coming out! The sides are really good too! And the desserts….chocolate cobbler, pecan cobbler, blackberry cobbler, peach cobbler. Hoooo! Wear comfortable, loose pants. When you leave, if you’re not bustin’ full and feeling like you’ve over done it at the dinner table, then you didn’t do it right.

The food was edible good if you have old taste buds, fish is a hard thing to perfect and they are far from it it was tasteless and devoid of any seasoning its very hard to overcast fish so don’t be afraid to do so, the gumbo was not gumbo it was soup and dont say “oh its creole” no gumbo needs a dark roux and flavor thats why its so good, needs to be able to stick to the rice, this tasted like broth and sausage, shrimp tasted ok but was put on the salad bar and had the texture of rubber “overcooked” best thing i had was the cut up sausage all the fried food tasted like it was from sysco, service was good everyone was friendly and nice that alone will land you a customer base so good job, atmosphere was whatever nothing special I noticed alot of people were always looking around like where and what do I do the flow and traffic they have aren’t great its confusing sure call dumb but it is throw up some of those line dividers at the front door lead the people dont let them wonder. This review sounds harsh but they could do better I have no doubt just gotta put the effort into it

HORRIBLE, family of four, no one enjoyed ANYTHING on the menu or ate. On our way somewhere else to eat after still paying 102.00$ Worst fish this building has ever served. Nothing to do with wait staff, as you wait on yourself, 100% self serve. Very disappointing, AJS was 99% better quality. Word to the wise, don’t confuse the 2. Save your money and disappointment for something else in wood county. There are plenty of options.
