I called ahead to ask if we needed reservations, but since it was a Monday, we didn’t. We arrived around 6 PM the place was a bit tricky to find (we passed it twice ), but as soon as we walked in, the owner (Mario) greeted us he was very friendly. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy.
I ordered the Alfredo and my friend had the Carbonara 10/10, actually 100/10. The flavors were unforgettable! Even months later, I still think about that creamy Carbonara and the crisp New Zealand white wine we had with it.
I honestly can’t believe a restaurant this incredible exists in such a small town. If you’re coming on a weekend, definitely make a reservation it fills up fast! But trust me, it’s 100% worth it
Every course was a solid 10/10. A bottle of wine, pasta, and dessert is the way to go. it was the perfect sit-back-and-enjoy kind of meal. Truly a lovely experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!!
Nice gem of an authentic Italian restaurant!!
My fiancé ordered wine and that and our appetizer (the calamari) along with a bread basket arrived at our table. The calamari was great; crunchy and tasty. Our orders arrived a bit later and my fiancé had the grouper special and I had the lasagne. Both entree portions were huge, both cooked to perfection, and very delicious. Needless to say we couldn’t finish our meals but we are happy to be able enjoy the rest at home! We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Mama Onesta’s and will definitely be back! I hope you get the opportunity to dine at this lovely restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
Cons; The spaghetti noodles here tasted like regular boxed noodles. I didn’t try the lasagna noodles though. I know it takes time to make fresh pasta and not every Italian place does this, but it truly makes the dish special. The Caesar salad was lacking. There was no shredded or flaked Parmesan cheese on top, just a light dusting of the parmesan that is in the same container at the table, the dressing tasted like Kraft Italian, the salad was over dressed, sorry, but this salad was not worthy of $20.
They are actively hiring servers here so be graceful about the service. The owner and host came by and talked to our table. They are very nice. Make reservations in advance if you are hungry.
