At Civitas, we believe coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a vessel for connection, creativity, and calling. Nestled in the heart of La Mirada, Civitas is a faith-led specialty coffee shop built on community, craftsmanship, and a deep love for people. Our espresso is pulled with care, our drinks are crafted with intention, and our space is designed to feel like a second home—inviting, cozy, and full of soul. We’re proud to serve in-house made items and partner with local makers, all while staying grounded in our mission: to uplift, encourage, and serve—one cup at a time. Come for the coffee, stay for the community. “Encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:14

Food: I had ordered 3 food items and forgot to take a picture. It was the avocado toast and peanut butter & banana toast. And a chocolate croissant. Súper bomb! Would definitely order all 3 again.
Drinks: Tried their coffee fall flight…and wow! Genius. Hope it’s a year round option and can choose other options when seasonal drinks aren’t in.
Staff: super nice & attentive.
Place: Very clean, easy to find seating. Parking wasn’t hard. Went here around 9-10am.
I had their matcha latte with whole milk and it was delicious. The right flavor and temperature. The place looks like a great spot to pull up a laptop and listen to some good music.
I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.
Espresso and foam of deliciousness
Homemade pastries and as a French person, their chocolate croissant is to die for
the best coffee in La mirada by far and the best in LA county I’ve found
In my opinion what makes this spot good is the type of coffee you get. Im no coffee expert but the taste you get is what I call “classic”. That straight up coffee taste you know and love. Everywhere else I go tend to favor the more funky natural process coffees. I love a good funky espresso. But to find this flavor profile in a coffee shop around here, or in LA in general is pretty uncommon.
