Such a cute little coffee shop!
Food: I had ordered 3 food items and forgot to take a picture. It was the avocado toast and peanut butter & banana toast. And a chocolate croissant. Súper bomb! Would definitely order all 3 again.
Drinks: Tried their coffee fall flight…and wow! Genius. Hope it’s a year round option and can choose other options when seasonal drinks aren’t in.
Staff: super nice & attentive.
Place: Very clean, easy to find seating. Parking wasn’t hard. Went here around 9-10am.

I was looking for a great coffee spot and I found one that was on the way.
I had their matcha latte with whole milk and it was delicious. The right flavor and temperature. The place looks like a great spot to pull up a laptop and listen to some good music.
I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

I ordered a flat white like an hour ago.
In my opinion what makes this spot good is the type of coffee you get. Im no coffee expert but the taste you get is what I call “classic”. That straight up coffee taste you know and love. Everywhere else I go tend to favor the more funky natural process coffees. I love a good funky espresso. But to find this flavor profile in a coffee shop around here, or in LA in general is pretty uncommon.

This place is great! I needed a relaxing place to read and spend the afternoon and Civitas Coffee more than fit the bill! I had a Matcha Latte for the first time ever and it was delicious. I highly recommend stopping in for a quick coffee or hanging out to get work done.

Once again I find myself at Civitas Coffee and I will say that I enjoy the smooth espresso latte, not a single bitter note to be found. This is a Honey Lavender Latte the barista seemed to be in training and probably won’t win for best looking heart shaped foam but he makes up for it with a great froth and temperature that plays well with the jetty espresso beans they use, they have invested in great equipment can’t go wrong with La Marrozcco equipment, the location is hard to find from the street and parking lot is kinda busy.. now for the west end of La Mirada, this place is a hidden gem and a must visit for anyone who thinks that they know espresso, this is in my top 5 coffee shops with, Tacoma Washington’s Valhalla, and Los Angeles coffee lab Intelligentsia. With all the great choices here in Southern California this little shop should be a stop when you are in the area. Music was on and the sound level was enjoyable with a nice selection. They survived the pandemic and are going strong..

I really liked this place until I ordered the cold brew. I asked for no ice and when I received my drink, it was filled half way. When I asked why, they stated the owner instructed them to not fill the top (based on measuring). I requested to fill it since I literally received half the cup ordered and they refused. I go to several coffee shops and this isn’t the norm. It’s disappointing and actually kind of petty. I won’t be coming back.

From the first visit, Civitas has been our favorite ever since! Whenever we are out of town and try another coffee shop we always compare that coffee shop to Civitas. “Is it as good as Civitas?” The answer is very rarely a “yes”. Our regular order is an unsweetened iced oat milk latte! And I would like to say that it doesn’t give us “that first sip feeling”, it gives us “that every sip feeling”! Wonderful baristas, delicious coffee, and reasonable prices! 🙂

I love this coffee shop! First of all the decor is on point! The marble counter tops and tables are so cute. It feels very hip and the service is great. They offer local drinks such as Fermensch Kombucha and Kefir Soda (probiotic juice). They also offer a selection of pastries. I recommend the chocolate croissant! I personally like the honey lavendar latte! They also offer latte art classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. You can also book for a private class, which I thought would be a great birthday event for any coffee enthusiast.
