My wife and I went to the Hot Fish House last night for dinner. The food was amazing. I had their catfish and my wife enjoyed a shrimp po-boy. I moved to WA from Savannah and the catfish took me straight back to Georgia. Service was also excellent. After we got our food the staff checked in with us multiple times despite a steady stream of other customers. Afterward I had a chance to meet the cook and we shared stories about Gullah cooking and his inspirations to start the place. Can’t wait to go back. Next time I hope they have hush puppies.

My partner was looking for a good southern food restaurant since moving from Houston and so we decided to try Hot Fish House. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. My partner wanted catfish and shrimp combination basket which was not on the menu however they accommodated. He also ordered mac and cheese and I ordered the Cod basket. The owner came over to our table to rap with us a little bit and to make sure we were satisfied during that conversation, he asked if we would like some greens and notice that the shrimp was not doubled battered so he returned with some free greens and extra basket of shrimp. He was such a friendly, down to earth man.
The greens had a smokey flavor, they were delicious. Fish was fried to perfection (light golden brown). Mac n cheese was on point.
The counter lady was very friendly and warm. The energy in there was all love and positivity. I highly recommend and we will definitely will be going back!

I had the most amazing birthday surprise at HotHouse Fish in Lakewood, WA!
I went there with my cousin after hearing all the hype, but when we pulled up, they were literally closing down for the night—chairs up, lights low, staff getting ready to leave because they had sold out of everything early (it was also super hot that day). I was so bummed, but I mentioned it was my birthday and that we had driven all the way out just to try their food.
And y’all… the owner did not hesitate. He said, “All we have left is catfish,” and then turned around and said, “It’s on the house for your birthday.” Not only that, he gave us free beers and even an orange soda for my cousin’s daughter. They cooked up two orders of catfish and fries, just for us—even after a long, hot day when they were ready to head out. WHO DOES THAT?!
The catfish? Crispy, flavorful, and cooked with so much love. The vibe? Even better. The kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family.
I told him we’ll definitely be back—again and again. I’m already planning my next trip so I can finally try their famous turkey leg!

I grab legs from here recently, but this last visit was it for me. I should have been informed it would take more than an hour to get a turkey leg. If I had be informed I would have respected that. That’s my last visit. I’ll smoke my own from here on out. Very ticked customer

We came in to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday, excited to enjoy some great catfish and support a small Black-owned business. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The catfish was paper thin, rubbery, and inedible. The grits were bland and unappetizing. The fried pork chops tasted like they had been cooked in old, dirty oil. The banana pudding also did not taste homemade.
After spending over $100 and only managing a couple of bites, we decided to request a refund because the food was simply unacceptable. We returned the food, but the store clerks said they couldn’t process a refund and were unable to reach the owner. Two days later, the owner contacted us and refused to issue a refund.
We truly value supporting small Black-owned businesses, but based on this experience, we will not be returning. Save your time and money.

I had the absolute best time celebrating my birthday at Hot Fish House! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were warm, welcoming, and full of flavor — literally and figuratively!
Let’s talk food:
The collard green was bold and creative, refreshing with so much flavor and full of savory goodness.
The turkey legs were fall-off-the-bone tender and seasoned to perfection.
The shrimp and catfish were fried just right — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
And that mac & cheese? Creamy, cheesy, and comforting — just like Grandma would make!
The highlight of the night was meeting the amazing owner, Mr. Q, who made the day extra special by treating us to the final turkey leg and drinks in honor of my birthday. That generosity was unforgettable.
To top it all off, our sweet waitress surprised me with a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Birthday,” which truly made me feel celebrated. You can tell the whole team here cares deeply about their guests.
Delicious food, great vibes, and top-tier hospitality — Hot Fish House is a gem. I’ll definitely be back!

We had the catfish catered for our event and it was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Everyone kept going back for seconds but it was gone. The service was friendly, professional, and right on time. Highly recommend them for any gathering—you won’t be disappointed! I would also highly recommend their smoked turkey legs. The juiciest I have ever had. Ask for Q for all your catering needs.

My wife had a hankering for some catfish and we found this amazing place. We had the four catfish strips and fries and that was more than enough for the two of us, but we had some jambalaya as well. The catfish was clearly fresh and cooked perfectly: flaky and soft. The sweat tea was also homemade and wonderful.
We will certainly be back. Maybe I will even stop to take a picture of the food before we eat it. We were quite hungry this trip.

Hannah was fantastic, and I would come back just to see her! Fortunately, the food was also amazing! We had the turkey leg, mac’n’cheese, jambalaya, collard greens, fried okra, wings, fries, corn bread, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. All of it was great! I would order every one of those again. Very reasonably price, food was delicious, staff was fantastic.
