My husband and I went here for my birthday. The service was exceptional and highly personalized. The food was a work of art and carefully explained to each guest. In addition, to witness the quiet, precision of the Chef and co worker relationship was out standing. It looked like a choreographed dance . I would rate this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could; It created a lasting and memorable experience for both of us.

This restaurant has become my favorite Michelin-starred destination. The cuisine is exceptional, with every dish prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. The service is impeccable — attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I had the privilege of dining in a private room, which made the evening even more special and memorable. The staff’s knowledge and attention to detail truly elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an outstanding fine-dining experience.

One of the most remarkable dinner experiences of my life. The food is exquisite and is a work of art. The wait staff and the Sommelier are absolutely incredible. They are helpful and attentive but never in your way. They definitely added to the pleasure of the evening. The chef Nick came to our table several times just to make sure everything was exceptional. Yeah, you’re not going to go there every week but it is well worth the money for everything you get. Cheers Nick, exceptional! Thank you.
Postscript: Congratulations on your Michelin star, you deserve it!

Philadelphia is a city full of incredible dining experiences, each of them unique and of high quality. Thus, when I say that this is the best dining experience in Philadelphia, it is not said lightly. The standard that is set by Provenance in regard to creativity, deliciousness, service and consistency is very high, and this city is lucky to have Provenance in its backyard. It is no wonder why they were awarded a Michelin star so soon after opening. I’m already looking forward to our next dinner there, if reservations are available

It’s incredible to me that despite the hype and impossible standards, Provenance not only exceeded our expectations but blew them out of the water. Every possible good thing you have heard about them is true, so before I praise them endlessly I will share one warning that I wish I had known before I went: the wine pairing was simply too much wine for me. If you are a lightweight, or think that six glasses over two and a half hours would put you under the table, I would strongly recommend finding better value in a la carte beverages or with their “mixed” pairings (some wine, some NA beverages together). I had to essentially skip the third and fourth glass for my own well-being 🙂

With that out of the way, I want to re-emphasize how special and wonderful the experience was from start to finish. The setting is luxurious and intimate with outstanding hospitality that was kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. Despite the fact that it is a high-end Michelin-starred establishment, we never once felt uncomfortable or out of place. The entire team from servers to sommelier were outstanding and helpful, providing the best restaurant service I have ever experienced.

I was personally skeptical if the food would be that good based on the many pictures I saw previously, but let me assure you that it is outstanding, and only got better with each successive course. I won’t go into detail on every single one of the 25 or so courses we ate, but I will say in general that every dish was creative and thoughtful, but also fun and whimsical. From the play on a baked-potato to a scallop “hot dog”, it was clear that the chef was providing delicious food with joy and not taking it overly seriously. My wife’s favorite dish was the poularde (fancy chicken) that nearly caused her to weep with every bite. I was loved the baked potato single bite as well as the broth in the chicken course, but every course was exceptional and an experience that was new and fresh to us. Every element at every course perfectly complemented the flavors and ideas at the table.

The beverage program is excellent as well. We were welcomed to the restaurant with a glass of sparkling barley tea which was incredible and unlike anything I’ve had before. They offer many different beverage options, though unfortunately I couldn’t find any details online about them before I got there. Their wine pairing is six glasses for $175, or if you want their absolute premium pairing you can spend $475. I enjoyed each wine and they went well with the food, but I personally would have gotten much more mileage out of a cocktail or two for much cheaper since I can’t quite drink that much. My wife got the “temperance pairing” which was six non-alcoholic beverages paired with the food. They were inventive and unique, often Korea and tea-inspired drinks. While they were very good, my wife did find that that much beverage did end up being too sweet for her tastes by the end of the night. And for $120, it is certainly possible to get more mileage elsewhere.

At the end of the day, this is still a meal that my wife and I talk about fondly. We didn’t think it would blow us away, but it did and we would love to return. One warning I would give is that it does end up being a LOT of food, so please arrive hungry. I wasn’t used to eating as late as 8:30 for the second seating, so I had an afternoon snack which meant I was in physical pain trying to finish all the food, but it was so good that it was worth it! In all my food reviews I am very value-conscious, and Provenance is not cheap. After two meals, two beverage programs, automatic 20% gratuity and tax our bill was $975. Can a meal ever justify that price? No, probably not, but even in spite of that we are so glad we did it. I would just not personally do the beverage pairings next time to make the bill much more palatable.

My husband took me here for our 20th wedding anniversary and I was truly impressed with the presentation of courses and flavors and the excellent service. This was true art and clearly a chef dedicated to his passion. I felt like I was living in a Picasso painting. One of my most memorable dining experiences. Can’t wait to go back!

Korean-inspired French fine dining — truly a unique experience. Every dish was thoughtfully composed, and I loved how each course came with a smaller, alternative interpretation of itself. While some of the flavors weren’t exactly to my personal taste (a bit heavy on watermelon and Korean sauces for me), the quality of preparation and execution was undeniable. Portions were generous — I was essentially full before the entrée.

The ambience was simple but elegant, with just the right lighting to keep things relaxed. What really stood out was the service: they greeted me by name upon arrival, the menu listed every team member involved, and the staff genuinely engaged with us from start to finish, even checking in ahead of time to make sure all our needs were met.

Overall, one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had — easily in my top 2 or 3 ever.

My wife drags me to fine dining every so often and this was one i liked a lot. I loved the fresh seafood and particularly the steelhead trout was a very clean bite and the tuna was top notch.

Loved seeing the humble tomato shine in a few of the dishes.

Cool setup at the counter watching the effort going into each dish. Service was great with the right amount of food and good pacing — not left waiting for the next course and not rushed.

Honestly the only negative is potentially getting seated next to an insufferable foodie giving his hot takes on every dish like he’s auditioning for “the menu”. But that just comes with the territory not the restaurant’s fault.

Will be back when the menu changes for sure!

The complete experience for our party of four was exceptional. Our primary server, Diego, warmly welcomed us and saw to our every need, including little touches like proactively getting a small table on which to put my laptop bag. He had a great command of the drink offerings and was helpful with suggestions. All of the servers took care to precisely position our plates and utensils. They took turns clearly explaining all 21 dishes that were included on the tasting menu. The balance of flavors in each dish was remarkable and each was precisely presented. The chef visited our table at the conclusion of our meal and the restaurant called the next day to check to make sure all was perfect. It was.

This restaurant is unlike anything you will find in the Philadelphia region. Dining here was like stepping into the canvas of a master artist. Bright and dynamic flavors, imaginative combinations of textures, fresh local ingredients, nuanced fragrances. The breadth and diversity of courses is captivating. Many elements of the menu and presentation are unexpected surprises, even the gift bag that you are sent home with. If you want to experience a culinary gem at its inception, make your reservation soon.
