Once we were seated, our server arrived right away and was fantastic! Even though they were very busy, she was prompt and checked back with us frequently for refills or anything else we might need. When one of the items was incorrect, she had a replacement out to us right away.
We all ordered the All You Can Eat Spaghetti, which came with a salad and a family size plate of breadsticks, and we shared a Joe-Bolli and some Cheese Fries. Everything was good, although the spaghetti sauce was very thin and watery. The cheese fries were hands down the best I’ve ever had–the bacon was cooked perfectly. As simple as it was, the side salad was great! The veggies were fresh and crisp and I am looking forward to trying some of their other salads.
I think I’ll give it a couple of weeks for the staff to settle into their positions and I expect my next trip to our new Joe’s Pizza to be even better!
I ordered the shrimp scampi to try something different and my wife got the usual spaghetti. They must have a new cook because what I got was pepper shrimp with very little butter and no other flavor but tons of black pepper. The angel hair pasta tasted bland except the tons of pepper on it and dry. When I asked about what the scampi sauce should be and how mine looked and tasted, I was told its just garlic and butter and she would bring me some out instead of taking mine back and cooking a fresh shrimp scampi. A few minutes later I got a tub of cold butter! Yes cold, so cold it looked like honey mustard dressing and tasted like cold butter. No flavor, no garlic nothing. Oh and she brought me the bill and a to go box with my order of butter.
They were not busy for a Saturday evening, but the service was not fast, she messed up my wifes order and then was oblivious to the crap the kitchen sent out. Then brings cold butter that she expected me to add to the pepper shrimp and magically somehow turn into scampi. Pathetic!
I brought it home and made my own scampi sauce with warm melted butter and ate a late dinner.
Joe’s you can do better!
The culinary experience was exceptional.
Had a dinner salad, Fried/breaded Portabello Mushrooms, and Stuffed Chicago style deep dish pizza with mushroom and hamburger (took plenty home with me.)
Pizza sauce is on the sweet side, but that’s not a complaint.
They will tell you they gave a full bar but it isn’t (don’t ask for a Mojito), but they’ve got a decent selection of draft beer. I recommend if you’re not up for drinking alcohol to order the Fitz’s Rootbeer. It’s not easy finding places with it unless you’re a lot closer to St. Louis.
