I just stopped by for a twist come on new years Eve. The staff was great and incredibly helpful. My ice cream was large even though I ordered a small. I loved the novelty of just walking up and ordering my ice cream and enjoying it in my car. If you’re near downtown Opelika this place is worth a stop. The food is also very fairly priced.

A little shack on thr side of a busy road. Read an article about this place and hear from a friend. Bar none this olace had the best chilie dog in Lee and Russel county,al. and Muscogee co,ga
their chili sauce is tasty, the slaw is just sweet enough they wrap the dog to make it just like the pool hall chile dogs across from Cobbs Barger shop in Phenix City back in the 50’s. If you want a good tasting dog Try mrs storys its worth the ride. The malts are pretty good as well

The people are nice, the novelty of going to an old school type of place is cool. The actual food is not good. I had a footlong chili cheese dog. Don’t know what the hype is all about, it had absolutely 0 flavor. The chili wasn’t good. The hot dog itself wasn’t good. Probably won’t be coming back unless it’s for ice cream. Truly questioning the taste buds of everybody who raves over such a mid hot dog.

Mrs. Story’s Dairy Bar serves the world’s best chili dogs. I have been eating their hot dogs for over 50 years and I always make a point of eating there whenever I pass through Opelika.

Great old school soft serve. Not really sweet, which is a blessing. The ladies running the place are a nice and friendly as can be. There are people lined up pretty much the whole time they are open. Not always a lot but 2-3 at least. The clarify restaurant look and sign are a big part of the charm.

If you’re from out of town and desire the simple yet timeless taste of a ChiliDog… THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! The building looks old and rough but that’s its age not the quality of the food!

My bf wanted me to try this place bc it’s been a long time favorite for years. He said it was the greasiest dog he’s ever had there. Also it was cold not even warm. We decided to share a banana split looking at the picture on the side of the building thinking it would be a traditional one (I’m not fond of pineapple on ice cream but thought I could eat around it) however we received it in a drink cup like it was a shake. All the toppings and ice cream all mixed together. Disappointing for sure.

Small local place with crazy parking when it’s busy. Got three foot longs, super, chili cheese, and chili with slaw. Chili was my favorite and it beats Sonic foot long chili cheese. The strawberry milk shake was the best thing, so good. Get it when you go here.

It’s an older drive-in Dairy bars. You order at the window, wait in your vehicle and they yell your name to come and pick up your order. It is a historic landmark. Over 50 years old with same recipes. Get a footlong hotdog with chili and onions (they are in the bag seperate) and a milkshake or banana split. Go here if you can.

Mrs. Story’s dairy bar is exactly what you would expect from a roadside soft serve place that’s got hot dogs, chips, and sodas. This isn’t gourmet, this is old school comfort. We didn’t partake in any ice cream on this visit but partook in the footlong hot dogs. The hot dogs are pretty mild in flavor, so I do recommend getting many of the topping combinations they offer.
