Overall, this place is not bad. The interior is very nice and thoughtfully designed, and the service was generally good.
The food experience, however, was quite mixed.
The steak was acceptable — around 6/10.
We also ordered a scallop risotto. The scallops themselves were good, but unfortunately the risotto was very disappointing, about 2/10, both in texture and flavor.
We also tried the tuna with avocado, mango, and wasabi sauce. The tuna itself was decent, but the rest of the components were difficult to eat. The mango seemed unripe, and the wasabi sauce was overpowering and unbalanced.
The biggest disappointment was the banana dessert. The presentation was extremely unappetizing and made it impossible for us to even try it. We shared our feedback with the staff, and while the situation was uncomfortable, the dessert was ultimately removed from our bill.

Can for my mothers birthday. After reading the reviews I was weary what the experience would be did food but took a chance. It was amazing, the service was flawless, everything we ate was delicious and they were very accommodating. We’ve been to lots of steakhouses and typically never finish our food, that was not the case here. We left stuffed and happy. I will be back

Ocean Prime Tavern in Cranford is an absolute standout. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a hostess who made us feel like old friends. The ambiance is the perfect mix of upscale and cozy—ideal for a special night out or a relaxed dinner. We had a 5:30 reservation for four, were seated right away, and greeted by a friendly server who offered us a choice of water (we chose bottled—served perfectly chilled).
Our drinks were a hit: I had a refreshing Mixed Berry Mint Cocktail, my fiancée had a tropical Malibu Bay Breeze, and my dad enjoyed a smooth, rich Red Blend. For appetizers, we had an incredible dozen oysters—ice cold, fresh, and briny with a tangy mignonette and Tabasco—and perfectly crispy fried calamari with a sweet chili sauce that hit all the right notes.
For entrees, I had a 16 oz NY Strip, juicy and seared to a perfect medium rare. My fiancée’s 16 oz Ribeye was rich and beautifully marbled, while my mom’s Chicken Milanese was golden, crispy, and topped with a light arugula salad. My dad also had the NY Strip and called it one of the best steaks he’s had in years.
We shared three knockout sides: a loaded baked potato with all the fixings, garlicky parmesan-roasted asparagus, and the indulgent, creamy lobster mac and cheese—absolutely packed with tender chunks of lobster.
Desserts were outstanding: I had a luscious Frangelico tiramisu, my fiancée loved the sea salt caramel cheesecake, and my dad’s bananas foster was warm and dreamy. We finished with rich coffees and were treated to complimentary limoncello—bright, smooth, and the perfect ending.

I loved everything about this establishment especially the vibe which is what caught my attention on-line. I can’t rave enough about the impeccable interior decor, tastefully done, spared no expense except perimeter(bit tight).

I had smoked old fashion, lobster Mac and cheese and a dry aged steak. Not only was it just for a nice sat meal they took care of us and my son who is 9. Everyone enjoyed their meal. For people who complain about the price. You need to understand you get what you pay for. I was happy with the exp and the food. All around a fantastic job.

We went for a New Year’s Eve dinner and had a reservation, but still waited a little over 30 minutes for our table. The host was apologetic and kindly gave my toddler a balloon, which made him very happy. The steak was excellent; however, the sides were disappointing—bland and undercooked. Given the outstanding reviews, we had higher expectations for the food, which is why we chose this restaurant for NYE.

My girlfriends (10 of us) and I had a great time last night. We had two seafood tours, amazing calamari, and a salad to start, all were fresh and delicious! My ahi tuna entree was unreal. Just how I like it!! If you’re a seafood person, highly recommend.

Not bad, but not great; I’ll definitely give it another try though! Great service for the most part, fun new spot in town. It gets realllllly loud in there when it’s full though and hard to hold a conversation. The sides were great, appetizers weren’t bad (they were out of the bacon, unfortunately), and the steaks were pretty good but thin cuts. We had a large group and everyone got different cuts. Good to have a new option. Like I said, I’ll give them another shot.
