The Catfish is absolutely the best around. Friday nights do your taste buds a favor and order the onion rings, they are mouth watering. The only thing that tops the food is the amazing service, friendly and very efficient.

Was out of town for the races and stopped in one night for the 1st time on a Saturday. Bartender was super friendly and funny. She engaged in conversation and made us feel right at home. .The regular customers were also very friendly and inviting. Would definitely stop in again when in the area.

Ma and Pa chicken shack. The best fried chicken, livers and gizzards you’ll ever have. I’ve been going to this place for forty years and I live an hour away. Gets busy on weekends. Taco Tuesdays are a must as well. Good people tastier food.

The Old Mill Tavern is located in Sheridan, Illinois not to far off RT71 and by the Fox river. This is an authentic… old country restaurant complete with yesteryear memorabilia, plastic table cloths and even has an old fashioned claw arcade game.
The Menu/Food
The menu is your classic bar menu featuring some breading recipes from the 40’s. Lets face it, not everyday do you see a menu offering a complete liver or gizzard dinner. I’ve been at the tavern for several of their nightly specials including the Tuesday Night Steak Fry and Wednesday Taco Night. There are also several all you can eat specials. The Steak Fry is fun and the food was good. The taco salad is good and the taco’s are as well.
The Experience/Service/Value
This is a great change of pace place. Our service was a little slow but it was steady. I ordered a mixed drink and there was no complaining about the pour. You can’t beat the value!! Give them a try.

The back of the bar is a large village scene that covers the entire back of the bar. As of publication January 22 decorations still there. 25 minutes drive from Holiday Inn Fox River. About 8 stairs. Unsure if entry without stair. Call and ask any question, even busy they answer.

We always go on Saturday for “all u can eat Crappie”. Its fried to perfection – never greasy. Gabby is our favorite waitress and she does her job well. We love going this time of year so we can see their holiday decorations.
