This place is great and a throwback into the early 70’s diner experience. The enchiladas are some of the best in town and the $5 burger and fries is one of the best in town. Breakfast is good as well. Staff is friendly. Good service. The manager Rudy is a great person and very welcoming.

Stayed at the Drifter Motel, and they give complimentary breakfast at their restaurant. The front desk lady said there would be items on the menu designated as “guest meal” that we could choose from. I was expecting very few choices and small items. Practically the entire menu was a “guest menu”!! We had so many choices of full meals made fresh when ordered. The food was so good and had great flavor. The staff was very friendly, and gave great customer service

Great food and service, it feels a bit retro or “time travel” back to the 1960’s for decor. The breakfast is great, just like my grandmother would make for us! I was visiting my Mom and she knows all of the good eateries.

The atmosphere of this place is awkward; the decor is retro but not in a good way. The booths near the front are in such a bad state of disrepair that I was embarrassed for the management when I walked in. The fabric on the seats was torn, and the stuffing hanging out.

We had breakfast, but it was not good. The omelette was bland and unappetizing, and the French toast just didn’t taste good- even the warmed syrup and blueberry pie filling were not enough to redeem it.

The Drifter was one of those places where we didn’t quite feel welcome, but we ate there anyway. The servers were fine, but we should have followed our instincts and gone elsewhere.

Service was beyond slow. 20 minutes before our order was even taken. My omelette was more like scrambled eggs with cheese on top and the hashbrowns were so crispy they were almost burnt. Will not go here again.

What’s to say about the pancake house where everyone in town eats? And it’s across the street from Denny’s. Unlike Denny’s, the Drifter is not a corporate chain. The Drifter has its own decor including porcelain tile, woven wicker window screens, 270° overview of busy Silver City, or sit on the other side of the table and watch the social dynamics of half the city’s police force. This is not a bunch of cubicles, this is social eating. And the service is Speedy Gonzalez fast. You can’t drink. 1/3 of. cup of. coffee and breakfast is served. I appreciate the ingredients are not overly processed food. The cheese. the green chilies and the eggs are the real deal. I like my English muffins a little more toasty, but they were piping hot. So if you’re looking to take a gander at the social scene of Silver City, the Drifter Pancake house is it.

Slow service, ordered the chicken fried steak. Waited forever and then was told something happened and it was never made, then waited for them to make. Food was ok. Waitress was never around to give coffee, they use tiny cups, so you drink it in about two gulps, everyone else had a coffee pitcher on their table. She left me one once and then took it to refill, never brought it back.
