If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I absolutely would. The energy and homey feel when you walk in just gives you assurance that chose the right spot for dinner. The staff was incredibly welcoming and had endless recommendations and passion for their menu.
I got the Duck Breast for my entree and I’m drooling just thinking about it. It comes served over a panang curry and black rice pilaf and topped with crisped duck skin ( ) and pickled onions, with a lime slice. The breast was cooked to absolute perfection and every bite had me feeling like the food critic in Ratatouille when he eats the final meal. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
We also got the pork tenderloin that was delightful and I realized I’d never had a properly cooked tenderloin until this meal. Juicy and flavorful and crusted with cumin, I was very impressed.
I can’t exactly remember our appetizer but I believe it was a special. Burrata served with local micro greens over some sort of zesty citrusy spread that made me want to lick the board clean.
Their wine selection is hand picked and well priced. We chose an Aglianico, which I was surprised they even had since it’s somewhat niche and not widely popular. Our waitress was super excited and we LOVED the wine, which I’m pretty sure made her even happier than us.
We will 100% be back for more and to show our friends. This place is easily one of the best that St. Pete has to offer. I might just come back and get the Duck Breast again, who knows.

Visiting front Detroit which is a bit of a culinary Mecca itself so we are not strangers to wonderful dining experiences. Our friends took us here for my husbands birthday and the experience did not disappoint. There are only 3 running this show on the daily and it’s incredibly impressive that they pull off what they do. The food was beautifully presented, super fresh and truly delicious! Dana is a gracious host and her husband does all the creative in the kitchen. We will be back on our next visit. Highly recommend!

This is one of St Pete’s best restaurants! Reasonably priced, amazing food and exceptional service. We started with the peach burrata, then shared the Flank Steak, market fish which was Branzino and a bottle of wine. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fish had a nice crispy skin. We finished with a dessert board with dark chocolate, strawberries, salted caramel drizzle and fresh cream. I would order it all again, so delicious.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. From the attentive service, the intimate setting, the skilled chef, and of course the incredible foods, it is an all around exceptional experience. The duck was certainly a standout dish, but then again so were all of them. Even the basic side dishes like potatoes and green beans were elevated and cooked to perfection. I would gladly come back here for a special occasion because I know it’s a good use of my money. Other restaurants don’t do it like Calida does. Worth every penny!

We visited Calida Kitchen in October 2025 to celebrate our anniversary! We were very excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews and vibes!
The pros: The food was absolutely delicious! Hands down some of the best eats we had throughout our entire time in St Pete! The wait staff was extremely friendly, and as an added bonus they even treated us to a free glass of champagne for our anniversary!
The cons: The reason why we took off a star was due to the horribly slow service the night we visited. Upon our arrival, our table was not ready (even though we had a reservation). No worries, we sat at the bar and had a drink. After a while we were seated, ordered, which was then when we realized how behind the kitchen was. It took us over an hour from entering the restaurant, to being served our first bites of food. Having a later reservation in the evening, we were absolutely HANGRY by the time our appetizers arrived (hence why I only remembered to snag one picture, we were devouring the dishes as they slowly came out). In total our entire dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours. None of the staff commented on, or apologized for the very long wait.
Furthermore, it’s very difficult to get a reservation at this restaurant. We tried calling numerous times over the span of a week, all of which went unanswered. The only way you can make a reservation is via email, which took several days to even hear a response.
Based on how great the food was alone, we would definitely go back and give this place another try. Perhaps we just hit them on an off night. Just be warned based on our experience if you do go, that service might be a bit slow!

My girlfriend and I tried this place out for a date night as we drive by it all the time, but we never knew how incredible this experience would be! The chef has put together an amazing but small menu which is perfect. The wine selection isn’t the standard stuff everyone else sells which also creates some curiosity to try something Dana recommended. I’d love to come back for another occasion.

Calida has earned its 5 ⭐️ reviews. Wow. I had such a great experience here. When you get there your GPS will probably take you to a shoe repair place (go around to the front and it’s right next door). The restaurant is cozy and small so as it fills up it gets very crowded and noisy but that doesn’t take away from the experience.
For starters we had the board, tuna crudo and a special of the night which was fried smelt. The smelt was so good I wish it was always on their menu. The crudo had amazing flavor and came with these wonderful sauces. The board was fine (we like to have things to nosh on but I don’t think this is necessarily something I’d recommend. I think it could have used some condiments like a jelly or mustard but the selection was good and the crostini bread was flavorful)
For our mains we tried the duck, the flank steak, and there was a lamb special. Everything was out of this world. Presented beautifully, and so flavorful. We paired our dinner with a bottle of Pinot noir from Austria and it was so good.
For dessert we had the dessert board and cheesecake and we each got an affogato. I know I keep saying it but everything was freaking amazing. So so so good.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant or our experience.

An exquisite dining experience at this cozy gem in St Pete. We were gifted a dinner at Calida and were blown away in every aspect. Dayna was warm and welcoming as she guided us through the menu. We started with the Shatta Shrimp appetizer. WOW Argentine shrimp with Middle Eastern hot sauce. For entrees, we chose the signature Chow Noodles and Arctic Char. Chef Ian blended fresh ingredients and spices to truly make this one of our finest dining experiences. We ended the evening with two scrumptious desserts. Don’t miss the cheesecake with its graham cracker crust and fluffy European style cheesecake. The strawberry dessert board was loaded with homemade cream, dark chocolates, and everything yummy.

My fiancee and I’s favorite restaurant in all of St.Petersburg. Just went here for dinner for my birthday for the 3rd straight year! Unbelievably unique dishes that you can taste how hand-crafted each element is. Superb service with an environment that is cozy and makes you feel like you stumbled upon a neighborhood hidden gem. Can’t recommend this place enough!

My husband and I went there tonight for our anniversary. We didn’t have a reservation but had spoken with Dayna on the phone a few days earlier and she remembered us! She sat us and gave us bubbly to celebrate. We had the ribs for an appetizer which was AMAZING! My husband had the chicken thighs for his entree and I had the polenta. All the food was outstanding and Dayna was super accommodating even though they were completely booked. For as new as they are they did a fabulous job. We will definitely be making a reservation there in the future.
