I spent around $56 for my 2 bowls and sides. That’s expected and was fine. My order arrived around 8:10pm. I was shocked to find that what I had ordered wasn’t in the bag. The order was completely wrong. I tried calling the location but because it was a delivery order the system wouldn’t let me speak to a crew member because it said they were busy helping other customers.
I am one week post surgery and I am not cleared to drive but had to go up there to speak to someone. When I arrived most of the crew were standing around talking not busy at all. They acknowledged me quickly and I explained my situation. They went to go get the manager. He explained that I could keep the wrong order and they would remake my food but couldn’t give me a refund because getting free food was more than fair. I didn’t ask for a refund I just wanted to make it right. But, I didn’t like this response because. I didn’t want the free food. It wasn’t my order. I was in alot of pain and wanted them to get my order correct the first time. I explained this to them. The manager walked away and the crew member was extremely nice and remade my bowls. I noticed they were out of alot of ingredients or the ingredients were old. He had to go to the online service line to get ingredients. If the restaurant is serving food for a few more hours. The ingredients should be available until end of day. I wasn’t abke to get one of the ingredients that was in my order due to them being out even in the back.
The manager did change his tune and say I could go to 1800 chipotle and get a refund there. Then he apologized again. I was given my order and a large cup of guacamole which was nice.
I did reach out to the contact center. I’m waiting for a response.
I would say if you are wanting Chipotle from this location just go in. This is the second time they messed up my online order and I’ve had to go in and have them remake it.
Cleanliness: When we arrived about 11:30 am on a Sunday, the restaurant was a mess. There as a large puddle of sloshed dirty water all through the kitchen and flowing out to the restaurant. Not only did it look unsanitary it was unsafe for the customers walking through it. Every table was dirty and food was all over the floor.
Service: Absolutely horrible and frustrating to watch. Somehow they had already run out of rice at the beginning of lunch rush, and while waiting for more to be made, the employees just stood around. Maybe this would have been the time to cleanup/be productive is some way? Watching the employees was like watching toddlers. Nobody moved with a purpose or sense of urgency despite the long growing line. I watched what looked to be a manager slowly go get gloves to put them on and rather than hurrying back to serve, he proceeded to try to “make baskets” by throwing balls of trash in the trash bin. Their inability to serve timely is 1) lack of being ready and prepared for a rush (supplies not being in place like bags which server had to leave station and retrieve. 2) Only one server that also serves as the person at register which is under staffed for lunch hour. 3) Employees will move as efficiently and fast as their manager. This manager moved aimlessly with the speed of a turtle and so did everyone else.
Want a burrito bowl? Go to Qdoba instead.
No one greeted me when I pulled up, and I sat at the window for another 10 minutes before anyone even bothered to open it. The whole operation feels completely disorganized and poorly managed. There’s absolutely no sense of urgency or customer service. This is unacceptable for a business, especially one as established as Chipotle.
Do yourself a favor and go to the O’Fallon location instead — even if it’s a longer drive, at least your food will be hot and ready when it’s supposed to be. This location is a total disaster and honestly needs to shut down until they can figure out how to run it properly.
