We visited on a weekday in July. We needed some lunch before fishing. We had the buffet and it was very good and convenient. You fill up your plate and they weigh it for the price. They have salad, meatballs, tacos, rice, pizza, Mac and cheese, chicken strips, and a variety of cold salads and desserts. Of course then there’s the ice cream. I can’t speak to that because we only had lunch. But the store had a steady stream of patrons while we were there.

Spectacular ice cream and spoons and straws that change color with temperature which is cool! They have a wide variety of drinks as well and they offer food too! My husband and I are visiting Michigan in late October and it’s extremely hard to find an ice cream shop that is open and we really wanted ice cream. Nearly slammed on my brakes when we were driving down Main Street and saw they were open! We were satisfied in finding this wonderful ice cream shop!

5/5 the cake batter/cookies and cream molts are so good, (next time you come try one of them) and the workers are really nice so I would recommend eating ice cream here best ice cream place in town. Also a huge selection of ice cream stuff.

Been going here and its predecessor, the Big Dipper, since the day they opened decades ago. Fantastic ice cream. Michigan Potholes is a chocolate lovers dream. The carrot cake ice cream is downright awesome, and …. oh my, I could have eaten the entire tub of honey lavender ice cream on my own. They have added a salad and hot food bar that looks appealing bur I haven’t tried it yet. Maybe next time.

We really don’t get Ashby’s by us and were really impressed by the ice cream.
However, what impressed us more was Zach and his work behind the counter. He’s funny, engaging, and has great energy. Homeboy deserves a big raise, and should seriously consider a career in sales. He engaged with each individual that came in the shop as an individual, building a story with them over something as simple as getting an ice cream. Keep that spirit up dude!

The location is very nostalgic having been a popular ice cream shop. New owners are carrying on the tradition of serving ice cream, however they offer a great salad bar,- buffet every day. The lettuce is fresh and mixed greens, not iceberg. They also offer nice buffet hot options too. Nice staff. Clean and welcoming.
