This place is legit. American Italian Deli is the name and it indeed stands up to it. I popped in for a cold drink, and the place looked awesome. Young gal behind the counter was super nice and helpful, and their selection of sandwiches look really tasty. I was able to order a bottle of squirt soda, and take a look around. I don’t think I would’ve left any type of review, but the gal who helped me was very nice and considerate. The place also smelled really good so I look forward to being back for a sandwich. With the hanging cured meats, you know this place is legit.

Great sandwiches. I got the roast beef and it was amazing Italian style! Had to go back the next day for another. Been there 3x in 2 weeks. When you walk in it smells so good and I love the salami hanging from the ceiling.

I’ve known this business for many years (mainly their Los Altos location). Love their patriotic, all American style meshed with symbolic or perhaps iconic Italian things we’re familiar with. Italian sandwiches, God Father posters, Italian olive oils…
American framed jerseys and other American pennants hung on the walls… But setting all of this aside, what’s made this amazing small business apart from your run of the mill deli, is it’s delicious sandwiches, pickles, cleanliness, friendly service and most importantly keeping its consistency in the way they deliver. My favorite? Of course, the medium Italian sausage sandwich, with their special sauce on sourdough bread. This is definitely worth forgetting about your caloric intake. You won’t realize what you’ve been missing all this time, till you try their sandwiches. Keep up the good work.

Finally, I tried these sandwiches after living in LG for over five years. I had always wanted to, and now I have. Honestly, I was expecting more. My boyfriend got them to go and brought them home. I’m not sure if it was because he chose the wrong type of bread, but these sandwiches seemed too dry and had too much bread. They definitely needed more sauce. Maybe the bread wasn’t right for these Italian sandwiches. I didn’t enjoy them as much as I had hoped. Also, I expected to see tomatoes in Italian sandwiches, but there were none. I’m glad I tried them, but they didn’t meet my expectations.

Only problem, the staff is arrogant and won’t silce salami fresh. They put pre sliced salami that was bad. Go to Los Altos location they are great and will slice fresh.

I was working out in the area and spotted this spot immediately as a place that could hold up to subs in the Northeast. They did not disappoint! Went with the original Godfather and couldn’t be happier. The young woman who helped me was extremely nice and helpful (Sun afternoon), special thank you to her! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for that authentic New York/Boston style of sub!

Wonderful deli! Staff is very friendly and efficient. They are knowledgeable about the menu. My sandwich had a ton of meat and fresh ingredients. The place was clean inside and out. Seating inside and outside.
Godfather sandwich is a classic and is recommended.

Then he said “what ever you do, make sure you stop at The American Italian Deli, because it’s the best!” So as soon as I was finished adjusting the Slide Feelers on the Hobbled Wigglerdoo, I was set and ready to go!
Man-O-Man a great sandwich! I never knew lunch could be so great! ☆☆☆☆☆

Sadly i don’t think it’s your fault there’s no meat. The economy makes it tough to turn a profit but for 10.95 I’ve got maybe 1 piece of prosciutto, 1 slice of mortadella and salami that doesn’t weigh an ounce. Good sandwich but lacking so much meat it’s made me leave a review
It’s insanely thin
Charge more and pack this bad boy with the good stuff
