We went in there tonight and both girls seemed annoyed we were in there and wanted to talk to their boyfriends more than actually doing their jobs. Both of our malts are bland and are very watery. I got the peanut butter cup and it was good but very chunky. Normally they do an excellent job but I’m very disappointed tonight.

Imagine this, you want a before bed snack, you slip on your crocs and head to get some ice cream, oh what a delicious treat!!! You arrive at the ice cream shop 40 minutes before closing, the open sign is on and there were employees stirring inside, you pull the handle for the door, the employees snarl at you as the door jiggles but doesn’t open. They look at you again with the scariest look on their face, oh no, “have they seen a ghost?” I whisper to myself. Nope! Just scared to death to see a patron that wanted a sweet treat. As I turn around to head back to my trusty steed, I think “maybe this is one reason businesses never make it in Petersburg!”

Ordered 1 triple scoop and 1 double scoop. Large waffle cone and a lot of ice cream with the triple scoop. Really good. The person who scooped the double needs to find a new job, they got tired and really only gave a single scoop. Ashby’s ice cream was really good. For both was under $10 total.

I had gotten there 15 minutes before closing and there were two workers inside. They stared at us as we walked in. When we got inside we got no hellos, smiles and they were on their phones. I get we came before closing but we knew what we wanted and was making a small trip that wouldn’t last 5 minutes. A person in our group asked for vanilla soft serve and they said the machine was down. I have worked around the same machine they used inside the store and it was placed on “standby”, which means you have to flip a piece inside and press “auto”. It takes 20 seconds to flip the machine. They blatantly lied to our faces. Which would have been easier to serve than hand scooping ice cream. This place needs better customer service and workers who understand when the place is closed is when you shut things down. Not happy, but ice cream was decent.

This shop is pretty much awesome. They have a variety of hand scooped and soft serve ice cream. Some are aimed at adults while others are aimed at the kids. My Wife and children enjoyed their ice cream. My blue raspberry slushie was great. The variety is perfect. They’re friendly. Their prices are friendly. If we lived in Petersburg we would likely frequent this place. It seems like a perfect small town ice cream shop.

Everytime I’ve been here the girls working have been kind of rude and just stare at myself and family as if we are imposing on them with our business. Tonight we showed up 2 hours before close to have them turn off the open sign as we approached the door. I offered to pay double for an ice cream cone for my 2 year old who left tears because we were told no! Unlikely to return.

If I could leave a No star review I would!! This was the worst customer service and atmosphere I have ever had!!! I guess we don’t teach our kids respect or just plain curiosity!! We will never return again!!
