At our Owasso, OK location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Limited staff, long waits and decent dining room are key observations. Based on our experience food is pretty good, and it’s the only seafood place in town- so, you get what you get. Overall it’s avoidable due to the circumstances of the restaurant.

Food is alway Amazing. Went twice this week. The 30 min drive thru wait however isn’t worth it. Doesn’t matter if it’s one person in front of me or 3 the second time. It takes forever. I’d visit more often if they can figure out how properly staff or cut down on the wait times.

Food was good- it’s fast food seafood, so not the healthiest option, but satisfied a craving. Got the two piece meal and substituted the fries for broccoli. The dining room is a little worn, but it was clean. No wait to order, waited about 5 minutes for food. Would visit again if in the area.

Me and my Daughter went through the drive through for some Lunch. I got 3 piece fish with double fries. She got 4 pieces strips with fries and macaroni & cheese. Needless to say it’s Bottom of the Barrel and Workers could care less if you get hot food or not. Does that look like double fries? It’s not even a small fry with the fish meal. Macaroni was like water. Fries were cold and stale like they sat for hours. Last time I will be eating here.

Drove from 61st St in Tulsa for this Captains Ds. Great service! Friendly employees. Food was hot and fresh! Was out of breadsticks was offered shrimp or a large drink. Great that they are compensating customer’s, vs just being out and oh well. Will be back! Thank you, for Great service!!!

I ordered the Deluxe platter so that I could taste the fish, shrimp, hush puppies, and seafood crab shells. The fish was the star it reminds me of Long John silvers. Shrimp has no seasoning, Seafood crab shells are bland and mostly stuffing. The entire meal even though I knew it was fried was extremely greasy.

I actually use to have this restaurant as 5 stars because I’ve always loved the food and service. But over the past year it’s really going down hill. I still love the battered dipped fish and the tarter sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I get fish at almost every restaurant I go to but none of them compare to captain d’s.
One of the things that upsets me is that almost every time I come here I’m missing at least one item. The first time it happened I didn’t check before I left, because I was in a rush, so I got all the way home to find out that they left my fried shrimp out that I paid extra to add on. I tried calling to see if I could have it another day because I didn’t want to go all the way back up there and my food get cold but no one answered the phone. I tried the next day at a non busy time and still got no answer so I eventually just took my loss. Another thing they forget a lot is the hush puppies for my husband’s chicken meal. He didn’t get them so much that we had no idea his meal came with them until one day he got them and found out through the app that he should have been getting them this whole time!
Another thing that is really going down hill is the quantity. My husband doesn’t like fish so he always gets the 4 piece chicken strip meal and it keeps getting smaller. This most recent time drove me over the edge and that’s why I’m editing my rating. I’m including a picture of his meal. He hadn’t touched his food yet and this is the size of the 4 piece chicken strip meal compared to the picture in the app. I get that most restaurants pictures don’t really match what the food really looks like but this is so far off I actually think it could be false advertising.
It honestly really sucks for me and is sad because I love coming here for the fish but I’m not going to keep coming if this is all the food he’s going to get for 11 dollars.
I really try not to post bad reviews but I felt like I needed to. If something happens and they fix the chicken strip quantities i will come back and change my review. I really don’t want to stop coming here.

There are only 2 Captain Ds in Oklahoma, both are in the Tulsa area. The one in Owasa has really great food. What they lack is employees to service the customers. Both times I visited, it took a while to order and get our food. But even with the wait, the food is great.

I can’t remember the last time I sat down inside a Caption D. Surprise to found a Capt D in Owasso. So … have to come in and dine -In.
