We had a very pleasant experience at this local coffeehouse. The exterior of this coffee house is reminiscent of a beach bungalow house or a local beach restaurant in St Augustine Florida. Yet, the ambience inside has a cozy and inviting home presence with a comfortable leather couch, festive home decor & furniture, and friendly staff. Jesalyn, our server, was very amicable, calm, professional, and recommended the Winter Wonderland seasonal coffee with chocolate & hazelnut flavors. We both ordered it and spent about two hours there. Service was efficient yet peaceful even when there was a flow of traffic after we were served. Time flew fast there and yet the environment always maintained a sense of serenity despite the flow of people coming in the coffeehouse.
There are different vendors with many items to select for purchase from art to accessories. The colorful bags with the smiley faces promoting mental health awareness caught my eye at one of the vendor areas there. I love that the coffeehouse is veteran owned, decorated for Christmas, and has an eclectic mix of handmade items and local art pieces. This is definitely a local business & coffeehouse to visit again in the future.

The atmosphere is cozy and clean! Very accommodating and lots of seating. It’s quiet and comfortable. It’s a great place to have coffee, read a book, study etc. I spent the last 5 hours there studying with a friend and it was the perfect environment for it.
The food was good and they have great gluten free options! Coffee was delicious. The staff was kind and helpful. I can’t say enough good things.

What a pleasant surprise! Love this place!
As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by friends and family with smiles. This coffee shop is definitely a home away from home kind of feel. From leather sofas, cute table sets, meeting rooms, and Christmas decor, you get a real sense of peace and comfort.
The seasonal coffee with chocolate undertones was a delight and was what I needed from such a long drive. We spent over two hours here taking photos and seeing family.
The staff here are welcoming and so generous. The business supports Veterans and offers military discounts! Can’t wait to meet Eric, the owner someday to thank him for his service and as a fire fighter. True American hero.

I suggested to have old Christmas favorites playing on the television such as Miracle on 34th Street or It’s a Wonderful Life, the. I would have asked for a job and never left.

What a local gem! This amazing coffee shop in Hampstead can be easy to miss due to its location off 17. It’s in the back of the little strip plaza across from CVS, past the gym. Eric is amazing, their seasonal coffee menu was diverse and so tasty. These aren’t Starbucks grade beans, these are the real deal. They also have a nice array of gifts to shop from and a very private conference room for meetings, when you need more privacy.
Let’s patronize our locally owned, small businesses instead of the commercial giants whenever possible. My business will remain here, hope others enjoy as much as we do.

A Taste of Sunrise Coffee House is such a lovely hangout space that makes it true to name, a coffee house. I lead an older kids/teens homeschool group all of southeastern NC so we now have met twice for games and hang out. I highly recommend you request the back room for your group. My son and I enjoyed smoothies on both visits. The service is inviting and warm from everyone working to serve you. The space is spacious and cozy.

5-Stars … I met with a small group and the cafe was very accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and spacious for our meeting. I ordered the salted caramel coffee and a blueberry muffin—absolutely delicious! The coffee was smooth with the right touch of sweetness, and the muffin was fresh, fluffy, and packed with blueberries. Great service, great food, and an inviting space. I highly recommend “A Taste of Sunrise” and, I’ll definitely be back!

This is truly a business that is rooted in community. They have the best coffee. They even have a gift shop area that sells items from local vendors. The owners are amazing and the service is always perfect. Stop by for their muffins, breakfast sandwiches or even some ice cream. The atmosphere is relaxed and feels like meeting at a friend’s. There is also outside dining. Check them out on Facebook. They often host local musicians so make sure to follow them to keep posted about local events.

5 Stars is not enough! I am diabetic and this is one of the only places that has a wide variety of sugar-free flavorings. We stop here almost every time we are heading to Wilmington. Owner, Erich, is also almost there working and helping out. You don’t see that very often anymore. Super great place!

I always have a wonderful experience at this coffee shop. The staff are always willing to accommodate my “extra” needs, like when I need my decaf heated up a little more, or ask for a specialty drink less sweet. Everything is always perfect!! They are so friendly and patient with me!
