This is the real deal and exactly what I hoped for when searching for THE BEST authentic Texas BBQ. Spent 10 days in west Texas for work, drove over 700 miles, and will definitely remember this roadside treasure. Be careful, if you blink, you’ll drive by it. And if you do, turn around. The chopped brisket was my favorite but enjoyed every bite on my plate. Met the owner who puts his heart and soul into his food. Definitely on my must-return next time I’m in Texas.

Side of the road Food Truck with an indoor bar type area. Picnic benches outside with ample umbrella coverage. The guy was really nice that served and made the food for us. Ample choices, but I selected 1/4lb of beef and my wife the chopped brisket nachos. He had us taken care of quickly and notified us with a pocket buzzer. Brisket was moist, had a nice bark, moist and had just the right amount of fat on it for me. Some good flavors. Give it about an 8. Wife had the nachos. She was ok with them. She really enjoyed the brisket and the chips were good, but the queso was not doing it. Overall for her about a 7. Atmosphere was very basic on a rock pad with several park benches. If there some music that might have brought up this score. Maybe a 5. Overall experience may not be enough to go and sit down again for us. Brisket was good but at $29.00 a lb, that seems a bit high compared to some other places out in the country. Might go by again for the brisket. *Inside looked like they might have some live singers or something like that. Very small in there. I’m sure this is a place many others might really like. It was a pleasant experience.

This place is SO cool! The BBQ was phenomenal! I had a texas slider and tater salad and all I can say is, WOW! We caught a show at the listening room and it was so intimate and such a great time! Will definitely be coming back!

If you’re craving best of the best Texas BBQ, Double D BBQ in Bluff Dale is 100% WORTH the stop! We were blown away by this hidden gem. We went at an odd hour so it was a bit slow, but don’t let that fool you. He’s got big names like Jason Eady playing soon in one of the most intimate live music settings in North Texas. Highly recommend. It’s a lovely summer drive from Granbury or Stephenville and they have an air conditioned dining room, so make sure you stop by!

This place has got to be the best stop we’ve made. The food was awesome and the service was great. We were greeted and thanked for stopping in. Great atmosphere and they also happened to have live music the night we went. If you’re looking for a new place to try, this is well worth the drive!

We had some AMAZING true Texas BBQ. We are visiting from Maryland and we were craving some BBQ (Sorry MD does know have good BBQ). When we arrived at DD, we were met with Andrea’s amazing hospitality while she guided us through their comprehensive menu. We were so satisfied with all we had, brisket, pulled pork, and their delicious nachos with GREEN SAUCE (you cannot miss it). The loaded queso was out of this world! The atmosphere topped it off with great service. If you are in the Granbury area, you got to drive to DD BBQ!

Came for the BBQ, stayed for the music! Great sliced brisket sandwich with solid sides to match. Papa’s Burnt End Pinto Beans were delicious. They host live music on Saturday nights, so I paid to listen to some great musicians from Ft Worth while enjoying the meal. This converted, old gas station was surprisingly incredible as a listening room for music. Very intimate & a great date night for those music lovers out there.
The owner was super friendly and the staff made sure I experienced the greatness of small town hospitality (Thank you Dana & Neil!) If you’re cruising to Granbury/Ft. Worth from west Texas, make sure to stop in to support this fine establishment!
