Dan and Staci are excited to announce they have opened The Derby Restaurant & Bar in New Market, MD. Both graduates of the Culinary Institute of America with over 15 years experience, they bring a unique and flavorful spin on local favorites, crafted with fresh regional produce and high quality ingredients. Breakfast is served & delivered on Saturday & Sunday from 8 – 11:30. Curbside Pick up & Contactless Delivery are now available! Lunch & Dinner delivery begins at 4 pm everyday. Delivery is available within a 5 mile radius of the restaurant, including Lake Linganore, West Winds, & Spring Ridge. We accept delivery orders up to 30 minutes prior to closing the kitchen. Carry out is all open hours.

The Derby is cute restaurant & bar in separate buildings.
I love the entire dine-inn experience, dim lights, modern, vintage & country at the same time.
The service is on point, everytime we were very well treated and they are always making sure everything is great.
The food is good, but let me tell you, they run special prices during the week. My favorite are Wednesday’s when they run a half price promo in every pasta dish. Can’t beat that.
The bar section is great, more like an old tavern, dim lights, beautiful ambience and great vibes. Drinks were great too.

Discovered by accident will return on purpose.We discovered this little restraunt while traveling.We loved the charming atmosphere and thoughtfully decorated dining space. We chose to sit in the courtyard and we enjoyed our time in the open air it was a nice break from our travel. I got the imperial crab stuffed shrimp and my son got the pork schnitzel. We loved that the it was locally sourced 4H pork. Our sides were divine perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes and delicious creamed spinach.

We absolutely loved it here! The staff and manager were incredibly kind and attentive from start to finish. Finding a spot that works for both a 10-year-old and a 1-year-old can be a challenge, but there was truly something for everyone. My eldest daughter actually finished her pasta—and as a mom of a very picky eater, that is a massive win!
I had the seafood club (DELICIOUS! ) and my husband really enjoyed his salmon. We also tried the crab dip; it was a little heavy on the “creamy cheese” flavor for me—and I’m not even a big cheese fan —but it was still so good that we all devoured it anyway. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We’ll definitely be back!

Came here with our grandson after his baseball game next door. This Italian sub was incredible. Only downside to this lunch was all the flies inside the bar area. Definitely a great menu so we’ll be back to try new things.

Some of the best food in Frederick. I have been multiple times and have always enjoyed it. 10/10 would recommend. Got the chili dogs and turkey avocado club both were great.
The crush bar is also an awesome touch. All of the drinks are delicious and so reasonable priced. Had live music for Summerfest which was a nice touch as well

I’ve always loved the Derby but I was super disappointed tonight. I went with some friends for dinner for Galentine’s Day. We order our food and everything comes out but mine. It was super busy, so it was a while before we saw our server, which I totally understand. But my party was half done eating so I asked if my food was coming soon. She said “oh I forgot to ring it in”. It took a good 30 minutes for my food to come out after that. We had somewhere else to be and I honestly wasn’t comfortable eating by myself with my party waiting for me, as they were long done their meals at this point, so I had a bite and got the rest to go. All that happens, it’s okay, but she charged me full price for everything and never even apologized or had a manager apologize or anything. It was just kind of a letdown when I didn’t even get to eat with my friends. Like I get mistakes happen, especially when you’re busy, but she could’ve at least apologized or had the manager discount it a bit. Just kinda rude honestly. And I didn’t ask for a manager because it was so busy, I didn’t think one would come in time and we had to leave soon for another event. Just very disappointing :/

This restaurant is much improved from when I dined here several years ago. I had the squash ravioli which was excellent. The side salad was average at best. Good beer selection. My lunch companion had the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries which he said was good. Prices were reasonable. Service was very good. It got pretty crowded by the time we finished our lunch.

We had a casual lunch for 2 on a Tuesday and dined around 12pm. I was surprised to see the restaurant get quite busy by 1pm on a weekday.
I was impressed to see beautiful vaulted ceilings with many windows inside the dining area. It made the room feel so big. Lots of seating options indoor and outdoor.
They have one wall tv and radio music playing, which we enjoyed.
Service was quick, friendly, and laid back. The menu has a wide variety options that made it hard to choose because everything sounded delicious.
They also have clean bathrooms and an ATM machine.

The service was good. The crab soup lacks the main ingredient of crab!!! The fried mozzarella is really good. The Cuban was decent for not being at a Spanish or Cuban restaurant. My plate came with all the leftover fry pieces, and I feel that should have been caught by the server or bartender who brought the food. The drinks are cold and STRONG!!! I would recommend this place. A little off-the-beaten path but worth a trip. During the summer it looks like this place would be great with a huge outside section!!!
