I absolutely love the drunken noodles here. This is the best Thai food I’ve had in Memphis. The flavors are amazing, especially if you enjoy spicy food like I do. I always ask the owner to make it extra spicy, and it’s perfectly bold and flavorful. If you don’t like spicy food, you can easily adjust the spice level to your preference. The owner and his wife are incredibly kind, and this place is truly a hidden gem in Germantown/Memphis. Will definitely come back!

Decided to try out this Thai place after randomly stumbling upon it online. I will say, it left a lot to be desired. The place was oddly empty when we came in and overall, the service was speedy and good. We ordered the pineapple fried rice, green curry, and a Thai tea.

The pineapple fried rice was pretty good and had nice flavor. The green curry was disappointing. I had it mild spicy and it was so spicy, you would think I ordered hot spicy, plus it had this odd bitter aftertaste that just wouldn’t go away and there was zero flavor. It was really odd and I def wouldn’t order it again. The Thai tea was pretty decent but it was a little watered down.

Overall, it was an experience that left a lot to be desired and just didn’t hit the spot.

My friend and I enjoyed the Shrimp Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and side order of fried rice. Each item was fresh, cooked to order, and packed with flavor. This was our first time here and far from my last. New favorite for Thai food. 10/10.

We tried a new local Thai spot that recently opened where East Meets West used to be. It’s a small, cozy place with prompt and friendly service. We ordered Tom Yum soup, red curry, drunken noodles, and kids’ fried rice. The food was good—not too spicy, which worked well for the whole family. While it lacked a bit of authentic Thai flavor, it was still a satisfying meal overall. Worth checking out if you’re in the mood for Thai close to home.

I tried the Pad Thai and Papaya Salad—both were packed with flavor. The spices were bold but balanced, and everything tasted fresh. Highly recommend if you’re craving real Thai food!

I found this newly opened Thai spot on Instagram — it’s been getting a lot of hype, so my husband and I decided to check it out for dinner on a weeknight. The place is pretty small, and although there were open tables, we still had to wait about 10 minutes. It seemed like they were short-staffed and struggling a bit to keep up. Even once we were seated, no one brought us water for quite a while, and multiple servers asked for our order — the coordination was clearly off.

When the food finally came out, it was the wrong order, so they had to take it back and fix it. Not the best first impression.

We started with a wonton soup that was warm and cozy — decent, but nothing memorable. For the main course, things really fell flat. I ordered chicken basil with a fried rice upgrade, and honestly, it was one of the blandest dishes I’ve ever had. No Thai flavor, no spice — just super muted. My husband got a cashew chicken dish that he said was “okay,” and it came with a basic scoop of rice.

The whole experience felt very watered-down — clearly tailored for a more Western palate. If you’re looking for bold, authentic Thai flavors, this ain’t it. Prices were a bit steep too for what we got. Not returning.

**Standard rating for American Thai cuisine.** It seems they are catering to the local crowd, but this definitely wasn’t an authentic Thai restaurant. We ordered spicy edamame, Tom Yum soup, grilled beef salad, red curry, chicken pad Thai, pad prik, pad basil chicken, and Thai tea. The service and the staff were extremely nice!

Let’s start with the spicy edamame; it was definitely one of the highlights of the night! I really enjoyed it.

**Tom Yum soup:** The broth was clear, which was telling. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very flavorful.

**Grilled beef salad:** I think they were attempting to make nam tok, but it missed the mark. There was no roasted rice flavor or fish sauce, and it was very under-seasoned. However, I must say the meat was tender. Traditionally, nam tok doesn’t contain that much vegetable—usually, it has just a small portion of leafy greens.

**Red curry:** This wasn’t bad, but I believe they used coconut milk instead of coconut cream, making it too watery. While the flavor was decent and the spice level was good, the dish was overly soupy and lacked richness.

**Chicken pad Thai:** The texture was spot on, but the presentation was lacking. It definitely missed the sourness that is key to this complex dish. I squeezed in some lime wedges, but it could have used more flavor overall.

**Pad prik and pad basil chicken:** Both were served in a garlic chili sauce, so I expected a similar flavor profile. However, they were quite mid and tasted identical. The sauce was not thickened at all, looking more like broth (see photo).

**Thai tea:** Unfortunately, it was very watered down. I don’t even know where to begin; it lacked flavor and was simply too watery.

Chalin Thai is hands-down the best new Thai restaurant in Memphis! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a calm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern yet cozy, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

I’ve tried Pad Thai at countless places, but nothing compares to Chalin Thai’s perfectly balanced, flavorful, and generously portioned. The basil chicken had just the right amount of heat, and the mango sticky rice? Pure heaven. Every dish was beautifully plated and bursting with authentic flavor.

What truly sets Chalin Thai apart is the attention to detail and consistency. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors bold yet nuanced, and the staff genuinely passionate about their food. Whether you’re a Thai food connoisseur or trying it for the first time, this spot is a must-visit.

Memphis has a new gem and it’s called Chalin Thai. Already can’t wait to go back!

Have been several times this year already. Simply the best Thai food in the Collierville/Germantown area, if not the entire Memphis metro area. Can do any dish gluten-free which is a big upside for me.

Ordered the Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. Both were good. Would definitely make a return trip. The price is good for your meal portions as well.

Service was excellent.
