Best breaky sandwich, this was definitely made with love. Was delicious! The danishes were also super fresh and tasty. Best raspberry danishes I have ever had. Amazing spot.

We’ve lived in Essex Junction for a few years and somehow missed this gem! It’s rare to find such a classic family-run dinner these days. Quality bake shop is simple, affordable, and inviting. Plus, the staff are so kind and welcoming! When we start our mornings here, the rest of the day feels better ❤️

Fresh donuts, pies, and other items. Sit inside or order and go. Simple basic café coffee but you really go here for the donuts cash only. Support local for yourself, your community and your taste buds. Service was quick and pleasant.

I really want to like this place. What should be a good bakery in the heart of Essex? Sign me up! But almost every time we order from here, we are disappointed and have to throw away food (and thus our money).
While the prices are very affordable, everything tastes quite old and dry. What prompted me to write today was the monkey bread- totally burned and rock hard, hubby bought it and you can’t even eat it! Check the pics, those aren’t black raisins on the top, I broke off a bit to check- it was charcoal and I had to spit it out. The monkey bread literally is inedible and leaves a bad taste.
How a bakery stays in business with poor quality bakery items for 50+ years, I really don’t know, but obviously it has a devoted following. There are always old folks there hanging out, so clearly they love it. We try going a couple times each year hoping it will get better, but no luck so far. Also why do they only take cash? Are all purchases under the table? So inconvenient and really ostracizing in today’s world. Get a square reader at least! Will we be back? Maybe…maybe not. Sadly there aren’t a lot of other options

I moved into the area around 14 years ago and each time I’ve gone in here, including today, we’ve been treated like an annoyance by the staff. So much so, that we’ve left each time, without food. Patrons will also stare at you like new people don’t belong. Big, boys-club vibes. I thought things may have gotten better after a decade but they did not. I will not go back and I do not recommend this place. Outsiders are not welcome. Very unfortunate.

Old school bakery. White on white cake is legendary. Cruellers are amazing – esp when still warm. Frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles are awesome too.

Food alone? 5 stars for sure. Their donuts are amazing and everything I’ve had is damn near. But the two gals that have been there both times I’ve gone in are so rude. What’s weird is they seem perfectly cheery before and after helping me. I’m sure you think I’m omitting the part where I’m a jerk, but no… marginally indecisive at worst, but a couple seconds not a half hour.
Anyway. Food is great. Would love to not wince when I see angry lady, but eh ♂️

Yummy. Maybe not the best coffee in town, but, best pastries, snowflake rolls and daily lunch specials are amazing!! And…the coffee is fresh!
