As the owner, I have been cranking out Authentic Sicilian cuisine for the past 50 years. I have been calling Lititz, Pennsylvania home for the last nine years where I have focused on my career and passion as a chef and culinary educator teaching the history and recipes of Southern Italian and Sicilian cuisine. I invite you to come over and try us out at Piccolo Eatery in Lititz Pennsylvania. Please come and try our delicious sandwiches, personal flatbread pizzas, homemade soups and desserts. You’ll see our menu is a tip of the hat for those of us that appreciate great food, made with top notch imported meats and cheeses from Italy and with locally grown seasonal ingredients!

You then walk back though a small grocery area (all of which you come to realize the chef uses in his own cooking), and there is chef Nino, behind what appears to be a simple deli counter.
Simple? Not so fast.
This restaurant is the epitome of Italian cooking.
Every ingredient is of high quality, and every dish comes together with a symmetry of effect that is kinda magical.
Example. His hot egg and bell pepper sandwich. The egg is light and fluffy. The bread has just enough crust so that it stays together and doesn’t tear into a mess, but is soft enough with the butter toasted into the bread that it’s not hard to chew. The roasted bell pepper with a little salty cheese adds some nice accents, but you’re still eating a beautiful trio of scrambled eggs in a sandwich. Everything is balanced. Every element makes the whole effect better and better. All the way through.
At Piccolo, 10am is a great time to start your day with a bowl of Tuscan bean and Kale zuppa. (Let the stale bread soften itself in the liquid.). Or some beautiful pork and beef meatballs with this marvelous fresh marinara, topped by a little cheese.
Again. It’s all balanced. It’s perfectly simple, but also simply perfect.
Make your day a little better.
Eat at Piccolo’s, right on Main Street, Lititz.
It’s a visit to your southern Italian Trattoria, just around the corner.
Lunch sandwiches were delicious but it left us wanting more. The staff told us that Chefs Nino and Sara hosted date nights for dinner, a multiple course, surprise menu that was sure not to disappoint. Why wouldn’t we sign up? So we did! The waiting list is long so it was a few months before I finally got to go.
My husband became ill but my young teenager and I went together and we practically licked our plates clean. What an amazing 3 hour experience. Every dish had a story and a history. Chef Nino is full of wonderful laughs with his rich Italian accent.
As an Italian, I felt right at home again in the middle of Lancaster County!
I highly recommend date night as it is a TRUE experience that you won’t have anywhere else in the county.
Although the menu is a surprise, they will let you know what wines will pair well so you can bring it along. They also are very aware of food allergies when you share that with them.
Thank you Chefs Nino and Sara for an unforgettable experience.
We haven’t tried Chef Sara’s new spot up the block, Beccafico, but it’s on the list!
