You open their door (even at 10am when they’ve just opened on a Saturday), and that succulent aroma hits your nose. Wow! This is home cooking.
You then walk back though a small grocery area (all of which you come to realize the chef uses in his own cooking), and there is chef Nino, behind what appears to be a simple deli counter.
Simple? Not so fast.
This restaurant is the epitome of Italian cooking.
Every ingredient is of high quality, and every dish comes together with a symmetry of effect that is kinda magical.
Example. His hot egg and bell pepper sandwich. The egg is light and fluffy. The bread has just enough crust so that it stays together and doesn’t tear into a mess, but is soft enough with the butter toasted into the bread that it’s not hard to chew. The roasted bell pepper with a little salty cheese adds some nice accents, but you’re still eating a beautiful trio of scrambled eggs in a sandwich. Everything is balanced. Every element makes the whole effect better and better. All the way through.

At Piccolo, 10am is a great time to start your day with a bowl of Tuscan bean and Kale zuppa. (Let the stale bread soften itself in the liquid.). Or some beautiful pork and beef meatballs with this marvelous fresh marinara, topped by a little cheese.
Again. It’s all balanced. It’s perfectly simple, but also simply perfect.
Make your day a little better.
Eat at Piccolo’s, right on Main Street, Lititz.
It’s a visit to your southern Italian Trattoria, just around the corner.

Nino is a master of fine sandwiches. We walked in Saturday afternoon and enjoyed some amazing soup topped with olive oil, a freshly made Italian sandwich with a great balsamic glaze and a variety of fine meats. Great service and a fine Italian eatery.

Best sandwiches in Lititz, and if you ask with a smile, they will give you espresso with a meal. Made my day. Great service, classic Italian vibe. Thank you Piccolo

I’m not sure where to begin. My family and I first came here one day for lunch. We had been so curious about this little hole in the wall for quite some time.
Lunch sandwiches were delicious but it left us wanting more. The staff told us that Chefs Nino and Sara hosted date nights for dinner, a multiple course, surprise menu that was sure not to disappoint. Why wouldn’t we sign up? So we did! The waiting list is long so it was a few months before I finally got to go.
My husband became ill but my young teenager and I went together and we practically licked our plates clean. What an amazing 3 hour experience. Every dish had a story and a history. Chef Nino is full of wonderful laughs with his rich Italian accent.
As an Italian, I felt right at home again in the middle of Lancaster County!
I highly recommend date night as it is a TRUE experience that you won’t have anywhere else in the county.
Although the menu is a surprise, they will let you know what wines will pair well so you can bring it along. They also are very aware of food allergies when you share that with them.

Thank you Chefs Nino and Sara for an unforgettable experience.

We haven’t tried Chef Sara’s new spot up the block, Beccafico, but it’s on the list!

Date night done right. Every course of the 5 courses was delicious. Piccolo is a small but mighty flavorful Italian, specifically Sicilian restaurant in the central PA region. Chef Nico & Sara were wonderful hosts and Jenny was a joy. We will be back again. I may have to write a detailed review later. Currently in a happy place due to the food coma they sent me in. I walked out of there with my belly almost bursting and a smile plastered on my face. Thank you, this was a wonderful experience.

They have a good menu of iteams to choose from. I ordered the meatballs sub on their fresh baked bread. Delicious! Next time, I’m going to ask for more sauce and extra toasted. Another reason why I chose to eat here is because of it easy access with a stroller.

Stopped in to eat as soon as we got to Lititz, as we were driving through the area. I got a cup of italian wedding soup and my wife got a cup of Tuscan bean and kale soup as an appetizer. Both were excellent. My wife ordered the Margherita flatbread pizza and I got the italian BMT sub. All the food was amazing and the service was excellent. The owner kept pushing the meatball soup, so we got a quart to go. A day later my wife and I split the other half of my sub and the meatball soup. The owner was right to push the meatball soup. It was off the charts excellent. Although we live an hour and a half away, we will find a way to get back to Piccolo’s!!!

Stopped in during a day out in town. We got a single serve pizza and two sandwiches. The bread makes a sandwich and let me say that the bread was some of the best I have ever had. Soft, warm, and stayed soft without being chewy. Staff was incredibly friendly. Clean, bright, and plenty of indoor seating.

Small, cozy, and charming. Feels like a hidden gem with comforting Italian dishes and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for an easy lunch or intimate dinner. This is a recurring favorite lunch spot in the household.
