Unique and fun atmosphere! Ambiance and food were a nice change from basic Cape restaurant fare. Food was interesting and delish. Loved our drinks (though the espresso martini wasn’t a favorite). Service was exceptional – attentive waitress who did a great job guiding us through the choices. We had a blast exploring a variety of foods and will be back!

What a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is unique and very comfortable. Our wait staff, Kate was very friendly and took time to answer any questions we had. The jungle drink was yummy and our plates were delicious each in their own authentic way. Looking forward to sharing more meals here with friends.

I was very impressed with this entire restaurant. The food was flavorful, creative and unique. I am a vegetarian and they had wonderful options for me. The pad thai I had was the best I think I may have ever had. The gin cocktail I got was delicious. The staff was very personable and pleasant. I sat at the bar and actually talked with the owner for a bit. She was kind, funny and made my experience a memorable one. If you are on the Cape, I highly recommend visiting this establishment. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here.

A hidden gem, Abroad is one of those places I’ll be thinking about and returning to over and over. On a quiet corner in Orleans, this spot gives you a glimpse of what’s in store as you circle the building towards the back-entrance. Eclectic, travel-inspired decor greets you throughout your experience to match this restaurant’s great concept. Friendly and efficient staff, an interesting menu and great drinks selection are waiting when you arrive. The food is, in short, excellent. We had worried that such a varied menu would lack cohesiveness but we were pleasantly surprised. The chef obviously wants to offer variety but has put thought into creating a menu that works well no matter what combination you order. The green papaya salad and Kafta were highlights, but honestly everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. We’re looking forward to our return visit already, and are so glad to have found this unique addition to the local scene.

The food is too expensive for the quality. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always willing to pay for a good meal, but this isn’t it. The menu has too many different cuisines, so you can’t expect everything to be good. Starting with the chips and salsa, the salsa verde isn’t quite right; it’s just a blend of green flavors. I came here thinking they had a vegan menu because some Google pictures showed one, but they need to update those pictures because they no longer have a vegan menu. The drinks looked delicious but didn’t match the flavor. I will say the Asian dishes were the highlight of the menu, unlike the South American ones, which varied greatly in flavor and taste. Otherwise, the place is very cute, although there’s only music inside. If you want to enjoy the outdoor area, don’t expect any music. I say all this to help others know what to expect and maybe to help improve the quality control of the places I visit. I always suggest going in person to experience places for yourself.

Such an amazing restaurant! So many different types of dishes from curry to tacos to fried rice. Everything tasted great and was very fresh. The service was also fantastic! Such a friendly and attentive waitress who made dinner so great. We will be back soon!
Many vegan and vegetarian options too, which is awesome to see!
A true Cape Cod gem

What a fabulous discovery to find Abroad while running errands in Orleans and looking for something different for lunch. Greeted warmly by Melissa, we sat in their covered outdoor space with funky furnishings and a Zen-like vibe. Felt like we were in Harvard Square. Food was an interesting mix of ethnic bites done quite well. We started with creamy tzatziki and smoky baba ghanoush, followed by Five Spice tofu, a bean and cheese taco, and the Bun Cha. The hot sauce sampler was a great add, too (and watch out for The Truth, it’s flaming!). The Bun Cha was a light, fragrant Vietnamese dish, only wish I’d known it was served cold and that it had more rice noodles and a bit more sauce to bring the flavors together.
Still, everything was tasty, fresh, expertly executed, and service was excellent. Anxious to return and try more!

This is — and I say this with grace — the worst place I’ve ever eaten in my life. Abroad is an eclectic collection of global cuisines that have somehow all been botched. And by “botched,” I mean no amount of calling these dishes “fusion” can spare them from being utterly disrespectful to their original cultures.
It is disingenuous to call these dishes “tapas” when they’re really just overpriced, underportioned, and bland renditions of something the owners ate one time when they maybe visited a particular country.
Chinese 5-spice tofu isn’t supposed to be oddly grainy with an overwhelming taste of cinnamon. A quarter-cup of “pho” shouldn’t come with a handful of bell peppers inside. We were so utterly disappointed with the portion size, flavors, and price of our meal that the 3 of us (from different countries!) left and got food from a gas station instead.
After eating here, we checked out other reviews — which we should’ve done beforehand. While the concept of this place is cute, the execution leaves much to be desired. We were pleased with how kind our server was, but not much else. Seeing defensive comments to low reviews is disheartening and reflects a lack of desire to improve the food/product quality at this establishment.
