My sisters and I went to Wine Down for a celebration and we did not want to leave!!! We started with the Wild Mushroom & Black Truffle Oil Flatbread — thin, crackly crust, loads of mushrooms, fontina fonduta, and a yummy drizzle of truffle oil. Drinks of choice were the lemon drop martini and the the Kris Kringle ~ with vodka, white cranberry and cinnamon simple syrup topped with a festive foam ~ amazing!
We had a flight of wines which was the perfect intro and they took the time to expand our taste preferences & knowledge.
The Tuscan Dip and meatballs were so delicious!
Every bite, fantastic owners, exec chef Autumn & server Adele exceeded our expectations ~
Wine Down on Market isn’t just the best restaurant in Parkersburg ~ it’s a destination worth driving hours for. Downtown has needed a place like this for decades ~ Kip and Pam have delivered quality far beyond what is even available in the region!

This organization and the experience that it offers the residents of the Mid-Ohio valley is something truly amazing and dearly appreciated.
The Food and Wine (and other spirits if you’re so inclined) are surreal. It’s a luxury that most of us locals are not quite used to, but dearly grateful for. Every bit is exceptionally well priced, to the point that you’re surprised after the meal.
The space is simply beautiful. Graceful and accepting. My wife and I love eating outside in the Summer months. They have an amazing space downstairs, called the Cellar that can be rented out for private parties and events. I struggle with the words to describe the Callar; maybe inspiring is the word I’m looking for.
All of this aesthetic and savor…. as significant as it is on it’s own, pales in comparison to the people that own, operate, manage and staff “Wine Down”. Veteran owned/operated, Pam and Kip have amassed a team that simply brings everything together in the best of ways. Autumn is an exceptionally talented and charasmatuc chef, whose philosophy can be tasted, seen, heard and felt in every bite; and the rest of the team are simply perfect.
And I’ll leave it with that. Wine Down on Market is very close to being a perfect experience every time, and we are so dearly grateful for that.

I would give more stars if I could! This place was awesome! It’s a little small, but really worth the trip. We sat outside and had a great time.
The food was magnificant – the mushroom flatbread and the mushroom pasta, holy cow they were SO GOOD. I told our waitor, who was also awesome, that they needed to be served together. If you’re a mushroom lover like us, I highly recommend getting them both! Then dipping the flatbread in the pasta. YUM!
The espresso martini was also delicious! So good my boyfriend got a second! The wine was very good as well!
So happy we checked this place out, we are already excited to return and get these dishes and the martini again!

In Parkersburg from out of town and found this place on yelp. Amazing.
Expected to have a glass of wine before going to dinner elsewhere but they had a full menu including build your own charcuterie, flat breads, roasted chicken, filets, all of it.
Their knowledge of the wine list is exactly what we needed to learn about new wines we’ve never tried.
Super cool atmosphere too. Come here.

Absolutely wonderful place Food was wonderful our mixologist Effie was absolutely outstanding! Great selection of wines cozy atmosphere highly recommended if you are in the Parkersburg West Virginia area! Wonderful time indeed.

We got there early and it was kind of slow. I ordered the steak and the main cook was not in yet so the owner brought us an extra app for free while we waited a few minutes. We had already ordered the pear bruschetta and it was fantastic. We had a wine flite and it was good as well. The manhattan was on point. By the time we finished the first app the second was coming. The main was right behind it as well. Service was great. The steak was cook below what I asked ( I asked med) and it was was med rare /rare but I’d rather it be under than over. It was not blue though. I have had many screw that up. Everything has good flavor. You really can’t go wrong.

Food and drinks were stellar! The service got a bit slow, but that was only because a large party came in, which is completely understandable. We had a wine flight and a build your own charceuterie board and they were both great! The staff is extremely helpful in explaining the menu as well!

Amazing wine selection and food! Had the Rosé flight, bacon wrapped dates, summer salad, house chips with fondue, and pork sliders between the 2 of us. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender. Will be back, 5 stars!!!

All in all a good place with good food. For the time and money spent on the visit we probably won’t be back for a while. With that being said our server was good, a little lacking on timing tables as we were there for 15 minutes before we were brought water, but we were in no hurry. To the food, we enjoyed the calamari as an appetizer. While is was delicious I feel for the area, the amount of food and what exactly it is that $22 was too high, the aoili dip was fantastic. I would like to see a third more for that price or drop it to say $18. Onto the entrees, the wife had a Caesar salad and an appetizer the meatball on bruschetta. She enjoyed the salad and the price point was ok at $10, with a more fair price being $8. The meatball on bruschetta was delicious, however it was $20 and a realistic price point is $16 as it was a small meatball cut into 4 slices placed on 4 toasted pieces of bruschetta the flavor was definitely there. For my main course I had the Koji Aged Filet. The steak was cooked perfect and the green beans were delicious. The fingerling potatoes even though they were cooked in duck fat lacked flavor, a sprinkle of finishing salt would have went a long way with those. The taste of the meat was unique, but I anticipated that having never tried Koji aged. It was good just not my particular cup of tea. Lastly the triple chocolate mousse cake. Very much a disappointment. At $12 a slice I would have thought it would have been made in house, but the fudge exterior boasted a restaurant depot special (as you could taste the cardboard it came in.) All in all the food was good, but not worth the price point. This is my opinion and I know there are people that will enjoy the atmosphere and food there and I do encourage everyone to at least try it once.

I’d love to give five stars here, but it fell just a little short. Service and prices are both good, and they had live music during my dinner there. I got the Brussels sprouts, which just tried a little too hard. The had good sprouts and added roasted butternut squash, walnuts and (I think) craisins. But it was too sweet in he end. The shrimp cakes, pictured, had waaaay too much filler, but a good taste. Really 4.5 stars, if that were an option.
