We arrived around 5pm on Friday evening, and the place was already packed. We got our names on the list (4th in line).
There are two high top tables at the front for those waiting to be seated. When we got to those, we were offered drink menus. Service came quickly.
We ran into my in laws. They seem to do ok, but it was very hard for them to hear. The walls, glass windows and ceiling are all hard reflective surfaces, so the noise level was quite high.
We got to our table within 20 minutes or so.
I got the poke nachos. They were fantastic. Light, hints of spice, and the tuna was very fresh.
My wife got the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. It has havarti, sliced apples and bacon. Well balanced and very tasty. The soup was rustic and well seasoned.
The kids both got the grilled cheese with fries. Their bread was soft on the inside and lightly crisped on the outside. They ate every bite. And, their meal included ice cream!
For us grown ups, we finished with the bread pudding (no photo, it didn’t last long). Very tasty and not overly sweet.
Looking forward to when they add the covered patio for summer!
We started our order with steak bites and a beer. The steak bites were either burned or fatty lumps. These were completely flavorless and over done, even the wine sauce was flavorless. I ordered the shrimp etoufee and my wife ordered the veggie burger. First the shrimp, again this dish had no flavor, no spice, and tasted like a bowl of rice. It’s quite amazing that there was no really discernible flavors! My wife’s veggie burger was also flavorless and difficult to cut or eat as it fell apart every time she tried to eat.
I ordered a Kölsch with the steak bites, it arrived cloudy and again tasting strange. I sent the beer back and was brought another as the first was the bottom of the keg.
The wait staff and management were concerned and listened to our concerns and they credited the steak bites. However,
1 beer, shrimp etoufee, veggie burger total cost was almost $64!
Now the atmosphere. The noise level is unnecessarily loud, extremely loud. The interior spaces are all hard, reflective surfaces and the volume and ambient noise is extrem.
Overall not a great first impression and I’m hopeful they will dial in the menu and attempt to soften the noise level. I personally feel the food is not value for money.
Highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup! Already looking forward to coming back to try new items.
Cannot wait to come back in the summer to check out the patio!! Beautiful restaurant! Well done
The menu has a broad selection of both food l, beer and wine, with something for everyone. The poke nachos were incredibly flavorful to start, and the prime rib dinner was excellent. Dessert didn’t disappoint either — the bread pudding and key lime pie were both fantastic.
We’re already planning to come back and work our way through the menu. Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Excited to have Quarry Public House nearby! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
