Really good food here. We had the chicken tacos. Super tasty!! The chips and salsa were equally good. Service was decent. We also had their margaritas which were great! Highly recommend this place.

Can’t say enough good praises about this place. Amazing food. The sweet potato fries are DELICIOUS, best I’ve ever had. My daughter couldn’t get enough. But honestly all of the food we ordered was amazing (salad with shrimp, spicy berry margarita, chips and guac).
Staff is great. Don’t ask the wrong staff for extra utensils or you won’t get help. I didn’t mind because right after I realized that someone else came soon after and asked me if I needed anything. Also a positive was that all of the staff is friendly!
Also the lady that took my order across from the bar was SUPER quick, professional and efficient! I don’t want to leave anyone out, the lady that serves my drink was super friendly as well.
ALSO, I sat down, blinked and my order was ready. I was amazed. If I. Loved out here I’d come here all the time. Great restaurant, highly recommend.

We were here several years ago for lunch and it was good enough to go back. That was a mistake. Host and staff taking orders were helpful and service-oriented. Food was not good across four different dishes. Carnitas tacos were bland and under seasoned. Flautas were dry and bland. Quesabirria was tiny and mediocre. Rice was ok, but about 4 bites. Beans tasted like they’d been made with rotten lard. Pozole and corn tortillas had the best flavor. All dishes were served barely above room temp. $15 margarita was supposed to be spicy, but it was sticky sweet, not spicy, and had little booze. I can get better Mexican at about 100 places in Minneapolis. I’d expect more in Cali.

El Patrón in downtown Palm Springs was a great experience. The food was delicious, the downtown vibe added to the atmosphere, and the restrooms were clean. We appreciated the plenty of vegetarian options, and the churros (with ice cream) were especially good. Overall, a solid 5-star experience and definitely worth a visit.

We expected to pay more than average based on the location, but food and drink quality were just ok, so it felt like we definitely overpaid. The host was friendly, but the rest of the staff we interacted with were not very. Walk up ordering.

December 2025 Wait staff, bartenders are great and attentive. Unfortunately, we went again on a Thursday and to our disappointment the Carne Asada tacos tasted dry exactly like the meat been sitting under a heat lamp for 4 hours. These tacos tasted completely different from what we tasted last week and the weeks before. I couldnt help to ask the waiter if there was someone new in the kitchen, or if theyd change the recipe; he said no. When the manager was called over, he only offered to take note for future reference, and he seemed unmoved. When my partner asked how he he would be able to resolve the issue at that moment, he offered a happy hour margarita. I am saddened to say that after many visits over the years and 70 dollars spent for a round of tacos and one happy hour margarita, we don’t feel like risking disappointment again. Inconsistency is not our thing, we are leaning towards not think visiting again. Unfortunately, I get alot of friends that visit from LA proper and they love this spot, I will have to share our bad experience with them. I am hoping Management is willing to really address this inconsistency; I mean when its good its insanely good but today the rating on the carne asada taco went from a perfect 10 to a sad subpar 1 to include corn tortillas that broke when folded. Until then we will need to get our happy hour taco fix at Rooftop 262 which is just across the way. They have an excellent happy hour, 3 delicious el pastor and carnitas tacos for $10. We were hoping to alternate taco spots but as of today, El Patron has lost loyal Local Patrons that know what a Patrons Carne Asada Taco at it’s best is supposed to taste like.

Oh my goodness, we were on our way to another restaurant for lunch and as we passed by this restaurant, we were captivated by the food presentation outside for a private party. So we decided to try it out. One word, DELICIOUS! The food is freshly made soon as you place your order. Taco shells are made fresh, they had everything you can conjure up for Mexican cuisine, great portions, salsas were great, drinks were amazing, I’d definitely recommend Cadillac Margarita, my favorite. This is definitely going to be a spot I’ll revisit either before I leave the city, or upon my next trip to Palm Springs.

We stopped in without reservations on a busy night when most restaurants had an hour-long wait. Luckily, this place was only moderately busy and was able to seat all seven of us comfortably. The staff was great and even let us know we still had time to catch the happy hour—despite only having about 10 minutes left. (Also, love that their happy hour runs generously until 7 PM!)
The food was solid, but what really earned this spot a high rating was how accommodating they were with our vegetarian needs. They customized dishes without hesitation—like making the quesadillas on corn tortillas—and they already offer a great vegan section. They were more than willing to adjust options for vegetarians who still enjoy cheese, which we truly appreciated. I do wish restaurants would consider the amount of single use plastics they use – we had a seat down meal and each dish came with multiple little plastic containers on paper boats… just feels so wasteful!
Overall, great service, thoughtful accommodations, and a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely return!

We had the El Pastor Pork tacos which were good, not exceptional, but they were excellently spiced. The Margaritas were unremarkable. The atmosphere and service were excellent.

Fun and lovely spot in the middle of the action of Palm Springs. Such a good people watching spot. We sat in the little loveseat of the patio. They give u your table number and then you order inside and they bring it to you. We just came for drinks and chips and guacamole as break from shopping. Drink came out fast but the guacamole took 30 minutes! They apologized profusely, they had a huge catering order they were managing and things got tied up. Chips were great but guacamole and salsa were just aiight.
