Instead, several employees who appeared to be teenagers were gathered behind the counter gossiping and congregating with each other, completely ignoring customers. I stood there feeling invisible while no one made any effort to assist me or even acknowledge my presence.
Customer service starts with basic acknowledgment, and unfortunately that was completely lacking. I refuse to patronize a business that doesn’t want to serve its customers or show basic attention and professionalism. Very disappointing experience.
When I mentioned it, she didn’t seem to take it seriously and even tried to stir the mayo deeper into the container to hide it. This was very concerning and unsanitary, especially for anyone with food allergies. I asked her to open a new bottle of pepper relish, but the whole experience made me question the food safety practices at this location.
Cross contamination is a serious issue, and I hope management addresses this and provides better training on proper hygiene and food handling.
From the options I’ve tried always quality meats: Italian, Turkey, Tuna fish, Roast Beef and Big Kahuna and Portabella Cheese Steaks. Also, the Tuna and Chicken salads are always consistently good here so you don’t have to worry about inconsistencies depending on when you order.
I literally past other Jersey Mike’s to frequent this one.
After waiting for 10 minutes, I went back to the counter and asked about my order. The same guy at the counter said it still hadn’t been made, and he asked the cook about the sandwich. I then overheard the cook say he had already made it and basically refused to make another one.
The clerk didn’t relay this to me, he instead acted like they had just started making it and said it would 5 more minutes… 5 minutes later, I asked to speak with the manager and I complained about them not being honest, and wasting my entire 30-minute lunch.
The manager then tried to give me a different sub that i didn’t order. When I reiterated that I wanted the sandwich I actually ordered, he asked to see my online receipt. Then he looked over to the same group of bags in the pre-orders/pick-up area and found the bag with my name in it.
It had been sitting there the whole time getting cold. So I wasted my entire lunch break for nothing. The manager, instead of apologizing, handed me a cup and offered me a free soda, as if that was a fair trade. I’ve been given a card for a free sub at another location for less, because the manager at that location was actually concerned about his patrons. Complete BS. The place wasn’t even that busy.
This location seems to have a problem providing good service, as this is not other only time this has happened to me here. Maybe if the manager spent less time goofing off and flirting with the lady in line, he could make sure his staff is accurately completing orders. Not to mention him jokingly acting like he was about to throw a sub to me like a football player, that wasn’t even mine, while I was waiting… which I didn’t find funny at all. He was more concerned with making jokes with the staff and other patrons to simply look at the orders himself when I arrived.
Time is valuable to the rest of us, even if you are at your job to play games. I will not be using this location again.
