Our love of the culture and classic food is what makes Uncle Willie’s the best wings in Newark. We pride ourselves on providing fresh and delicious foods for our customers while sharing some of the music and culture that made 90’s era hip-hop the best decade ever! Uncle Willie’s Wings was founded in 2019 at our original location on Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark. It’s where the Uncle Willie’s flavor was born, our classic originals (Barbecue, Asian Chi –that’s straight outta the CHI, Buffalo, Lemon Pepper Wett, Roasted Garlic Parmesean, and Uncle Willie’s signature Willie’s sauce). Since then we have expanded our flavors including our crowd favorites Bitter Ex, Cypr3ss Hell, and the Queen Bee!

The food is delicious!! But the attitude of your cook is a bit nasty. For the third time I’ve had to ask for the wings to be tossed in the sauce as oppose to just drizzled on. (And I’m not the only one who’s experienced this, several of my coworkers say the same thing) If it’s such a problem for us to have our wings tossed to be fully covered in the sauce; then don’t offer the service. And she didn’t toss the wings just added more sauce so not sure what the issue was.

Due to the weather I stopped in for a quick bite. I got a number 1. The wings were horrible. They were hard and tasted like old Old grease. For the price I paid I could have went to Applebees. What a waste of my money. I could even eat it

Stop in before I left my hotel that’s connected to the Gateway Center.
The menu is plenty and I honestly wanted to try everything.
Will was working at the front and I asked for a few suggestions and went with the wings. Wasn’t sure which sauce I wanted so he offered 4 for me to try
Creamy Garlic Stallion ( he suggested because I said I lived in NC ; mustard based)
Creamy Lemon Pepper ( his current go-to)
Garlic Parm
Asian Chili
Loved all four; went with stallion and lemon pepper
8 wings (1/2 & 1/2 sauces) with a order of waffle fries
Everything was made fresh and was ready in less than 15 minutes.
Fried to golden perfection and sauced just fried. Some of the best wings I have ever had. Waffles fries were perfect.
Will be back and highly recommend

BE CAREFUL! I placed an order on their site b/c according to Google they were open. Upon arrival the restaurant was closed. I thought they’d refund my money since I couldn’t pick up the order. Nope! I left a v.m & sent a message through their website portal and still haven’t received a response. I now have to file a charge back with my bank. It’s a shame b/c I’ve supported this business on multiple occasions & situations like this continue to push the negative sterotypes of black owned businesses. If you’re closed for business ,your website should reflect that & prevent ppl from placing orders. Let’s do better!

First time trying, I ordered the special chicken sandwich to go. I thought it would come with the sauce and maybe some veggies. It came with a small sandwich bun and a piece of very dry fried chicken. I showed to my coworkers, and they said I should go back and return it. I just won’t be going there again.

i had a bad experience here this was my first time i thought the atmosphere was nice and so were the people i brought the jerk wings they were not cooked properly and they got me very sick to the point i had to call out of work monday. if anyone is thinking of ordering food from there think twice

Wow, my new favorite wings spot. I’m not sure I had a first favorite wings but like this is worth going out of your way for. You can tell the owner put a lot of love into the wings, had a chance to meet him and he gave me the rundown of all the specialty sauces. I would recommend the lemon pepper wings because they are better than you would expect. Instead of a dry lemon rub, the owner uses a wet lemon soak and they are super flavorful. I love the artwork and branding, you can tell special attention to detail was taken at this takeout spot. What I thought was really cool is that in addition to wings, other sides are offered. I really love the fact that they also have smoothies and other Soul food sides as well.

For the ones with the negative reviews saying they didnt put ketchup in the bag and you didn’t notice it till you got home! you don’t have ketchup in the house if not you don’t need to be eating out you need to be going food shopping. Smh then the other person who ate 4 wings then notice they wasnt done is crazy after one wing Im going to see that.
