We are staying in Basalt and were thrilled to find a restaurant within walking distance with such an extensive gluten free menu. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! We had the gluten free fried chicken and the bbq brisket with creamed corn as a side. Wow!!! Their buttermilk biscuits are amazing! One of the best meals we’ve eaten in a long time! Highly recommended!

First experience at Hominy. The staff were incredible friendly. It has a very cute atmosphere, easy to talk, and music set a lovely vibe. The decor and music transported us right out of Basalt. Wow… the food was so delicious! We so look forward to coming back for dinner.

Really cute restaurant. Andrea was our server was very attentive, down to pouring our water. I love the cute bar ambiance. Centers the place. Great for a quick date night. Our just a filling meal. We were straight off the slops. We had on sweats and boots, temp outside was 10 degrees. Sarah was very nice, I love how informative she was bout the area of El Jebel and the following towns. I had shrimp and grits a savory dish, and I will definitely get it again. Also, the fried green tomatoes with the pickled salsa. The others had the catfish dinner, which was really good and filling. The classic corn bread was really good. One had the blue crab mac and cheese. It was really good, but it needs a little more blue crab. The place is mid-size, so I would recommend reservations. We were lucky to be able to walk in to be seated. The service was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Placed an order online for pickup. The restaurant was quaint when we arrived. They had a live performer, so it had a relaxing vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating. Would have enjoyed the food more if we had decided to dine in. I checked our order before leaving and I’m glad I did. The sides to my dinner were incorrect and forgotten. Portion sizes are pretty small for spending $66 for 2 entrees and cornbread appetizer. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the grilled cauliflower with mac and a biscuit. The food was good, but not outstanding for the price.

A group of us were visiting a farm in the area and the idea of Southern cuisine in the Colorado mountains sound interesting for lunch. Though it’s located in a strip mall, entering the restaurant brings a totally different vibe. Great menu and great service. We ended up with a bigger lunch than expected as everything just sound amazing! And everything looks and tastes delicious (so we forgot to take photos!). A gem indeed!

I just had dinner last night at Hominy. Among our group of 3 we tried the seafood mac n cheese, Caesar salad, ribs, creamed corn, gumbo and the pork chop, and fried chicken. (We were hungry) Everything was delicious. Probably the best creamed corn ive ever had. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, tender. The biscuit was excellent. My cocktail, an old fashioned, was excellent too. The service was very friendly and professional. Perhaps a bit slow but that’s ok. We were just very hungry. Prices were fair, ambience truly lovely. We will all be back soon. The chef, Jake, even came to pur table so was nice to meet him. Overall this was a fantastic experience and I can highly recommend Hominy.

Been living in the valley for few years now and it was my first time trying this restaurant. I was suprised how good the food was .

First, we’ve been greeted by the owner herself and she served us too. She was very nice and friendly . The food came out on time. We started with the chicken liver pate which is probably my favorite. The fried chicken was a bit undercooked but she was able to have it fixed for us . The grits were amazing and so as the brussel sprouts. They have plenty of dessert options but we didn’t have any more room . (Maybe next time )

The interior and design of the restaurant was very cozy too .

Absolutely a gem of a restaurant here in the valley. Well worth the trip. One of the best bowls of gumbo I’ve ever eaten. Quaint, clean, modern, with a dash of southern hospitality. Highly recommend. The biscuit is extra and well worth $4.

A very tasty new hot spot in the valley. I don’t think I’m the only one the read it’s most recent newspaper review – the word is out!!! Sharing some Chattanooga, TN and other coincidental southern roots with the chef – I had to try it. Punchline, it was great. I had the gumbo, fried chicken, collards, and chocolate chip cookies. All were just great – chef put out the fried chicken vibe – and did not disappoint, excellent, cooked perfectly – I’d like to see a pinch more salt and seasoning, but that probably just me. Overall – Chef did not have a heavy hand with seasoning and spices or salt. Gumbo … more stuff than roux, and all good! Collards, really great – simple, and those who don’t like salty foods, Chef pulled off collards and ham and not salty – somehow!!! Chocolate chip cookies were simple like hone made and tasty – *they accidentally gave me I think shrimp and grits? I thought it was my gumbo – but wasn’t – but it was good.. Place was cute, nicely done new – good looking locals crowd – noisy – crowded – get a reservation. A great place – simple menu – fair prices – a delicious new treat yo the community!!! Go and enjoy – you’ll love it!!!

So the service was excellent. Emma our waitress was kind and helpful. The fried pickles were really good. My partners chicken and waffles was undercooked, it had pink spots on the chicken . The side of green beans were crunchy felt undercooked as well, I’d wish they were softer. The roasted cauliflower was really good I’d wish it had more chimichurri sauce. For the price I was hoping for a better food experience.
