Who would have thought that in this tiny country town that one would find such a great little restaurant! We walked in and it was crowded with two very large parties going on at the same time. The waitress told us about seating upstairs so upstairs we went thinking we were in for a long wait. But no, she came up directly to take our drink orders and our food order after she brought our drinks up to us. We. Waited but not overly long. My husband’s mushroom burger was delicious (he said) and the onion rings were perfect (yes I tried it). My steak quesadilla was also delicious and all was reasonably priced

This place was terrific. The waitstaff were very attentive. We were staying at the Copper Breaks State park to see the Perseids Meteor shower over night and needed a place to eat. We hit the jackpot. Chips and salsa were yummy and so were the jalapeño poppers. Chicken fried steak and sides were delicious. If we are ever back in this area we’ll definitely come back.

We stopped here on a Thursday for dinner en route to the Metroplex. It’s a cool spot with a nice vibe. Definitely get the small town experience seeing the neighbors interact, but still get the same warm welcome as travelers.

The food was great. We started with the stuffed jalapenos and I had the hamburger steak with the cowboy potato and green beans while my partner went with the chicken fried steak with cowboy potato and corn. Everything was fresh and had home-cooked nostalgic flavors. The toast especially had those childhood memories coming back, tasted like grandma used to make. We just had water because the travel but they do have a full bar.

The only issue we had was with service. The waitress was very new and seemed flustered as it got busier. The menu says the entrees come with two sides, but we were charged for an extra side on each plate for the second side. Overall recommend the stop and it’s worth getting off 287 into downtown, just check the ticket.

This place is absolutely amazing! I had the shrimp skewers, a top shelf margarita, the fired cheese sticks and sampled the artichoke and spinach dip. I finished with a sopapilla cheesecake. I found everything scrumptious! (Especially the fired okra, extra crisp and delicious). Can’t go wrong here!

LOVED this place!
This was one of those little gems that you discover in small towns.
Local owned, genuinely friendly service, and welcoming. Very clean and quaint, still has the old style bar from long ago.
“Morinda” (sp) our waitress was great! Helpful, friendly knowledgeable, great customer service skills.
My Ribeye was super delicious and cooked to perfection. The Poppers were yummy.
My son loved his bacon cheeseburger and my husband had the chicken salad which , we thoroughly enjoyed.
Highly recommend this Restaurant! Hopefully our travels will bring us back this way again.

First time customers, visiting from out of town.

Food was bland, lacked flavor and generally not that great.

Service started out ok, but beyond taking our order was basically non-existent.

Restaurant has a great look/feel, but unfortunately neither the quality of the food nor the service, matches the presentation.

When we pass through this area again, we will seek other options.

Stopped here on a recent vacation and was very pleased that I did. They were short staffed as an employer had gone home sick, but the service was still great and the food was amazing!! I will make a point of going back any time I’m going through that area (even if it’s out of the way).

My friend and I were there for dinner when I attempted to pay for my friends meal. I was upset they wouldn’t let me pay for it. Then across the room at the bar was a long haired hippie.who was giving me a nasty look which infuriated me. I was so mad I stuck my middle finger up at him and said a few choice words. At that time I was asked to leave and I left. I came back to the door to get my friend and they called the police on me for criminal trespassing. I want to apologize for how I acted while I was there. I want to apologize to the waitress as well and let her know she was so great about it.
