Been coming here for years. They changed the name of the restaurant but the menu and foods are still the same. I always enjoy their tofu stew when I go to eat inside at Hmart. I think they have the best tofu stew around. I’ve eaten at other restaurants and it’s just not as flavorful as theirs.

I had the squid and pork belly kimchi (#22). The service was fast, I picked up the food immediately and started to eat without waiting. The squid was like rubber. It was the worst I ever had. I didn’t eat more than 2 bites of squid and 1 of pork belly.

There are a few vegetarian options and those are good!

The food was great, came very quickly and was delicious! They gave us small side dishes of seaweed kimchi and bean sprouts (so good!) They also were accommodating and gave us takeaway bags.

I tried the Korean Army Stew and it was unbelievable. It had so many delicious items in the hot spicy broth. The cold side dishes added a pop of flavor along with the rice. No complaints from me! Many will suck down energy drinks full of chemicals, I’ll get my energy from Korean Army Stew.

Best Kimchi Jjigae (stew #25)!!
We’ve tried a bunch of other dishes here (soups/stews, rice or noodle based) but always go back to their Kimchi Jjigae. We’ve also tried all the other mom&pop shops/food stalls Kimchi Jjigaes & they are not as rich & flavorful as Ziggles..
It’s a 30min drive from our house but we come at least once a month sometimes weekly. I usually get 1 or 2 Kimchi Jjigaes to go as well – they freeze & defrost very well. Just eat the banchans/sides within 2 days or the bean sprouts & seaweed don’t taste so fresh – obviously the kimchi (due to the pickling) lasts a long time in the fridge.
Pro tips: ask for a miso cup so you can pour yourself a miso soup while you wait for the Kimchi Jjigae (soups/stews by default don’t get it) – you can ask for green onions on top. And you get a styrofoam cup to pour your own water from the tall white water dispensers. If you eat all your steamed rice they will give you more for free. They used to do that for the banchans/sides as well but we haven’t asked recently & covid changed some of those things (it used be self-serve so basically unlimited). Once you’re done put all your things on your tray & put the tray on the cart at the restaurant you ordered from.
