Went there for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend it. We had a very nice waitress who recommended good food for us sense it was out first time there. And it was all good. The atmosphere was calming it had dim lighting with nice music playing and we were sat right next to the fire place. It was wonderful The menu wasnt. Super expensive but for 3 of us getting two starters 3 entrees one soda one glass of wine and one dessert to share we spent 180 dollars including the tip. It isn’t too bad and definitely worth it.

The service was excellent. The restaurant wasn’t busy and our waitress was very attentive.

My husband’s steak was closer to medium rare than medium well but the flavor was good. He could have sent it back for another visit with the grill but chose not to.

My salmon was glazed with a pleasant blend of strawberry and blueberries in a balsamic base. But the salmon itself wasn’t a typical cut, had been salted at some point, and bore a mild hint of having been frozen (salmon should be frozen, but shouldn’t taste like a freezer). Not terrible, but not fantastic. It was accompanied by a standard long grain rice and nondescript Brussels sprouts with a few slices of red & yellow peppers amongst a pile of sliced onion, also okay but far from impressive.

I chose loganberry, a rare treat, which could have passed for black cherry Kool-Aid.

Our two meals and two soft drinks – no appetizers or desserts – came to over $91. My dinner was $30 alone. I’ve had better meals at half the price, and the price is my first reason not to return.

TRAVELERS BEWARE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
To start this is our second trip to Canandaigua, most food in this town is fantastic! Last time we were here was 2 years ago and saw this place was new/recently opened (later to discover it only opened 6months ago). As we walked in we were greeted by a VERY VERY NICE WAITRESS! We got led into the very dark dining room, dark enough that the waitress even mentioned it was very dark. We sat down and instead of starting with the specials she started with what they DIDN’T have! They pretty much don’t have anything. She came around brought drinks, they however didn’t have the capabilities to make a frozen piña colada. So she offered some apps and starters we got fried calamari which started off with pretty good impressions, however the price was a tad bit high for the quality of it. Moving on we got 2 seafood chowders which were awesome, but at the same time we got something good we got our second bad taste in our mouth when one member in our party had ordered their THIRD choice because they were out of the first two and at that point they ran out of scallops. So she ordered “prime rib” queen. Now the meals came out fairly fast. The two seafood pasta dishes looked awesome. The crab cakes looked good. The “prime rib” looked like something was wrong it looked like steak, it did not look like prime rib at all. Onto the taste, the two pasta dishes come with a mild marinara sauce and they were delicious. The two crab cakes tasted like salt, like if you took a block of salt and put it on the table and the crab cakes were completely dry. Now moving onto the “prime rib” the cut was not prime rib, it looked like a steak. Overall I would NOT recommend visiting this new restaurant especially for the price we paid for the quality of food we got, if the prices were lower it would have been different, however the prices were way to high especially for not having any food. If your in Canandaigua do not waste your money at this establishment, the staff was amazing, but the food was horrid.

My wife and I went for the first time on our anniversary. It was excellent!

We tried the crab cakes. Really good! They weren’t lump crab like we’ve had in Maryland, but they were the next best thing, and trust me, we’ve been looking!!

The decor was very nice, the servers were also very knowledgeable and friendly! Enough about the atmosphere, we go for the food! 🙂

We also tried the seafood chowder. It is almost like a bisque, with tasty chunks of lobster, seafood, and potatoes. Delicious!!

We both had the prime rib with mashed potatoes. She had risotto and I had mixed vegetables. Everything was fantastic with one exception, they laid the prime rib on top of the sides. Since I ordered my meat medium rare, the vegetables ended up soaking in the meat juices. So if you order prime rib, get the veggies on a separate dish.

Otherwise, we were extremely satisfied with our experience at Catch 407. The portion sizes were very generous, meaning I got a perfect dinner the next night!! Yum. The prices are not cheap, but not unreasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get.I wholeheartedly recommend giving this place a try!

We love Catch 407! Don’t judge a book by its cover! It looks unassuming from the outside, however when you walk inside it is amazingly well designed and decorated! We absolutely love the ambiance! The food is also amazing too! Tonight was our 4th time having dinner at Catch 407 and it was superb! Of course they have amazing seafood dishes however, they do have wonderful dishes beyond seafood. My husband loves their steak and chicken dishes! Oh! Their hand crafted cocktails are amazing! You must try the salted caramel and chocolate martini! It is to die for! Service here is also excellent! I would highly recommend dining here!! We will definitely be back again!

The service was fantastic! We did not enjoy the two appetizers we had. The crab cakes were mushy and comprised of only shredded crab meat, no chunks at all. The grilled calamari was very fishy smelling. If they prepared it differently, it might be okay. Hat the surf & turf for dinner. It was great. The lobster was well prepared and the filet was amazing. Would have given 4-5 stars if the appetizers were better.
