If you’re on the hunt for an unassuming culinary gem in St. Louis, Navin’s BBQ is a must-visit. Tucked away in an ordinary-looking establishment, this place is the epitome of the phrase, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’ One step inside and you’re greeted by an inviting Southern/Midwestern ambiance, reminiscent of a scene straight out of House of Cards. The decor is modest, with regular wooden tables, chairs, and wall art that evokes a sense of homey charm.
But, let’s get to the meat of the matter – the food. Navin’s may very well serve the best barbecue in St. Louis, and the brisket stands testament to that. This might be the most tender, flavorful brisket you’ll ever treat yourself to. The pulled pork doesn’t lag far behind, elevating the BBQ game with its succulent juiciness. However, the real star that ties all the dishes together is the barbecue sauce. With its beguiling blend of mild spice and a hint of sweetness, this sauce is so good it borders on addictive.
The “One Meat Dinners” are a great way to sample the variety on offer. From the sides, the Mac and Cheese steals the show, so creamy and delicious you’ll be tempted to swim in it. The beans are more chili-based, offering a hearty, meaty complement to the main dishes. Although the cole slaw is more average, it’s still a fine addition to the spread.
The service at Navin’s is just as commendable. They go above and beyond to accommodate their patrons, even when it comes to making sure the little ones are satisfied. Our request for a piece of white bread without any grill marks was met with understanding and prompt service. Any hiccups with our order were handled professionally and seamlessly by the manager.
In conclusion, Navin’s BBQ is more than just a BBQ joint; it’s an experience. For those willing to look beyond the ordinary, this place promises extraordinary flavors and stellar service. Whether you’re a local or just passing through St. Louis, make sure you don’t miss this hidden gem. It’s undoubtedly one of the best BBQ spots in the city, if not the entire Midwest.

The wings, the Mac and cheese, and the brisket burnt ends are the best in show. We got almost everything on the menu and everything was great so you really can’t go wrong. The staff was super nice and answered all of our questions while we sat on the back patio next to the smoker. Best bbq I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Ok let’s just say the food was amazing!!! So delicious . When we pulled up and got out you could smell the bbq cooking and actually see someone outside cooking it ! (Big Plus) The chicken wings had good flavor and was cooked perfect. The Mac and cheese was soooo perfect! The crunch they put on the mac and cheese makes it even better (which I don’t know how). Got a Texas Twinkie and it was good. Also got a half pound of the burnt brisket ends. I never had them before and they were too fatty/chewy for me. I like my meat well done/tough lol. Staff was super friendly and nice. They threw in some Texas toast on the side. Bought a Groupon so I really got a great deal for everything! Would definitely be back and try some other meats. Next time a larger order of that Mac & cheese . Thank You Guys !!

Went to try their special for Burger Week. The Smoked Pit Beef Sandwich was tasty. I plan on coming back for pulled pork. I did try their summer slaw and it was just ok.
The counter staff were very welcoming and patient in their descriptions of the menu items.
Being a diabetic, I wish there were more drink options available. They use a stocked cooler for the drinks in bottles ( including water). Plenty of napkins available.
Good parking. Easy to locate. The fire is right outside the side door.
Bathroom was clean.

A small restaurant that serves some tasty barbecue. You know it is good when you can see and smell the smokers. The meats are tender and juicy. The sides are a great compliment to the entrees. Service is minimal, but the employees are there if you need them.

Fantastic restaurant, I had the beef burnt ends and coleslaw and both were fantastic! The protein was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of smoke letting the beef flavor not get overwhelmed. My dining partner is a vegetarian and had the sandwich which was very good according to them.

Amazing! I know there are tons of great places here for BBQ but this may be the best brisket I’ve ever eaten. The owner took my owner and very humble as well. The sides were excellent! Mac N cheese was even unique and good. Love the pickles as well! There’s not really any legit and good BBQ places in tower grove so I’m stoked to have it here! Great price for the quality and quantity of the food as well

Great new BBQ addition to Arsenal, the Burnt End Brisket was awesome, tender and decadent, though I was shook by the Texas Twinkies, gotta get there early of you want to get your mits on the Pork Belly, Pulled Pork and other savory treats.

Proprietor has KC / Texas roots. The flavor is astounding. The coleslaw is exploding with jalapeño flavor, but for those who want less kick. Easily removed. The pickle relish has some punch . Bbq sauce has good flavor. Burnt ends way good, though the brisket is much more preferable, but sold out as 3pm. Sigh.
The only knock is toast the Texas toast, And they sold out of the good stuff, but all the best bbq shops in the nation have this problem. Get there early!
Well done Navins.

This was our first try of this new place, and we will definitely be back again soon because while seemingly low key, all our food was delicious. We did take-out of two meals and an extra side and wound up being STUFFED. Went around 5pm, get there earlier if looking for things like pulled pork and wings. We got sliced brisket and ends and will be tempted to just get the same again next time. Tangy BBQ sauce that compliments the rich meat, kept on the side of ours which was much appreciated, as well as some zippy pickles that are snuck in. Pleasantly surprised that sauce and beans were not the sickly sweet variety.
A classic cole slaw, and a must-have mac and cheese with big noodles that was BOMB. Texas twinkie was the best jalapeño popper-type goodie I’ve ever had and honestly won me over if I wasn’t already there lol. They even have a vegetarian and a vegan sandwich option too. Looking forward to trying the greens and a sandwich next time.
