Absolutely delicious omakase meal (and great value at just $99 for a 16-course menu), but what stood out most was the excellent service from the entire team at Endo. The warmest, friendliest people. They put so much love and passion into their craft and truly seemed excited to answer our questions. Really loved the entire experience from start to finish.

I wanted to see Chef Endo in action, but Chef Vincent and Chef Chris were awesome. Omakase was . I just wish it included one salmon course. I wouldn/t mine a little more fish in each course either, but overall, the experience was .

Chef Endo is *amazing*! The food is prepared right in front of you; it’s incredibly fresh, and I will say it flat out- this was the best sushi I have ever had in my life. There are also courses on the menu of noodles, tempura, etc., and everything is incredible. The staff are all lovely people. The cocktails are wonderful. Everything was absolutely immaculate! And if you’re celebrating something and you let them know, they definitely celebrate you- the staff lead the entire group in singing happy birthday to me when we went. So if you don’t want to be sung to, don’t let them know you’re celebrating a birthday. But I thought it was great!

I had a very disappointing experience at Sushi Endo last night.

I traveled from Dallas to Austin specifically for this restaurant, because I was expecting to be served by Chef Endo himself. As someone who has traveled to Japan three times and Hawaii three times, and who has extensive experience with authentic Japanese omakase, my expectations were based on genuine familiarity with high-quality sushi, not hype.

However, upon arrival, we were never informed in advance that Chef Endo would be absent. Instead, the meal was handled by his sous chef, without any explanation, apology, or compensation. This alone felt highly unprofessional and disrespectful to guests who booked specifically for the head chef.

Unfortunately, the execution confirmed that this substitution mattered:

The tempura was excessively salty, to the point where it felt as if salt had been accidentally poured in — completely unbalanced and unpleasant.

Several pieces of nigiri rice were undercooked, with a hard center that should never appear in proper sushi rice.

One of the kitchen staff was wearing a bracelet while preparing food. This raises serious hygiene concerns — is this acceptable in a sushi bar?

The substitute chef spoke far too much, disrupting the pacing of the meal. Sushi portions are small by nature, yet after finishing each piece, we had to wait an unusually long time for the next one while he chatted and showed off to other guests. A 16-course omakase took over three hours, which is simply unreasonable.

The service was inattentive — water was not refilled unless we asked, which should never happen at this price point.

The dessert was shockingly careless. For a meal costing around $100 per person, using what tasted like store-bought whipped cream was unacceptable. The final donut dessert felt lazy — shouldn’t this be paired with something like Hokkaido milk ice cream at the very least?

Overall, this was one of the worst omakase experiences I’ve had in recent memory, especially considering the price and reputation. If the head chef is absent, guests deserve to be informed ahead of time — and the food and service should still meet the standard that the restaurant claims to represent.

This experience fell far short of that standard.

When you first visit this place it is very unassuming. It’s sort of in this strip mall that really doesn’t call out what it really is, although it does have some wood paneling to make it stand out from the rest of the strip mall. You go inside and you’re definitely going to feel a different vibe. The host is very friendly and welcoming. They do a very good job at remembering the party’s names and seating arrangements.

The chef is very friendly and really had a great time with each and every piece of Sushi that was provided. The bartender was able to make some really on point drinks including the Mescal Margarita which was very tasty. Is it the best Omakase sushi that you can get in the area? No. However, their attention to detail and friendliness definitely is something that you should give them a try.

I really like that they had us get our party together and seated in the waiting area to loosen us up a little bit of course with some drinks. Then seated us out the counter where we were served our Sushi.

I would definitely recommend going here just for the experience and service. I’m so lucky to have such a variety of places to go for sushi that it takes a lot for places to stand out.

We went to Endo on a recommendation from a neighbor for our 30th wedding anniversary. Turns out that we were the only party for early dinner on a Tuesday and we were not prepared for the excellent experience. We were greeted upon arrival and sat in the lounge with a complimentary Sake. We ordered the omakase experience with the sake pairing; Every bite was perfectly assembled right in front of us by chef Endo himself. We started with an Uni, pork belly and yama imo dish and a unique glass of mushroom scented sake followed by two delectable sushi bites, then masago and more several more sushi items (pomfret, sea eel, barracuda, fatty tuna, blue fin tuna, sea trout, A5 Wagyu and others). The last couple of items were a delicate miso soup and a Japanese flan like pudding. Finally, and most unexpected was when Chef Endo grabbed an electric guitar and took to the stage blasting some Stevie Ray Vaughan tunes. We left with personalized wooden coasters, a full belly and admiration for a one of a kind Omakase experience & new friends. Chef Endo and his staff are the best! We highly recommend and will be back again and again!

From the customized coaster to the electric guitar show at the end by chef Endo, everything was perfect! Loved all the fresh ingredients and simply delicious meals. We were really impressed with all 20 courses in our omakase experience.

I specifically look for Omakase when I travel. Very underwhelming experience. Way to much cooked fish for my preference. Most of the items were already prepared, felt like a buffet. Service was good.

Truly one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had! My boyfriend and I went here for our 5 month anniversary and it was such a great experience for us both. The fish was fresh, flavorful and unlike anything id ever had before. We were lucky enough to sit in front of chef Endo and he was just full of fun stories and cultivated the experience to be as amazing as it was. We opted for the $99 course with the sake pairing for us both. I also added on sea urchin and wagyu with caviar and both were simply divine and worth the extra cost. The end of the night finished with the chef playing guitar for the restaurant and I thought this was the perfect way the carry out the evening.
Would recommend this omakase to any sushi lover!

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday at Endo, and it was an unforgettable experience! We opted for the Omakase 20 course meal, and every single dish was a masterpiece. The food was incredibly fresh, traditional, and bursting with flavor.

The ambiance of the restaurant is simply stunning—elegant yet comfortable, with a great vibe that perfectly balances sophistication and fun. The service was impeccable, with staff who were both attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home.

The highlight of the night was the chef, who not only prepared our meal with exceptional skill but also engaged with us throughout, sharing stories and even playing the electric guitar at one point! It was such a unique and enjoyable touch that added to the overall relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

Endo is far from stuffy or pretentious; it’s a place where you can enjoy top-notch cuisine in a laid-back, vibrant setting. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommend!
