I’ve left many reviews over the years, and the vast majority have been positive. My wife and I come to Miami about once a year and always enjoy the food here. While staying in South Beach, we wanted something close by and had a craving for Mexican food. Like most people, I searched “food near me” and came across coyote Taqueria With over 12k reviews and a 4.9 rating, it seemed like a solid choice.
The host was friendly and helpful, and we were seated indoors. They also offer outdoor seating. The décor and music were nice. We’re from San Diego, so we’re pretty familiar with good Mexican food and have a solid frame of reference. We hadn’t eaten breakfast, so I ordered chilaquiles with red sauce, scrambled eggs, and grilled chicken. My wife ordered the chicken tacos.
When the food arrived, my eggs weren’t scrambled they were over medium. That wasn’t a big issue, so I didn’t complain. Unfortunately, the chilaquiles were very dry and disappointing. The menu photos showed red onions, but what was served with yellow onions, and the sauce had almost no flavor. The chicken was also dry and lacked seasoning.
After a few bites, I pushed the plate aside. My wife’s tacos looked very plain and unappetizing, served with a side of fries smh with tacos. Maybe that’s a Miami thing, but we’re more used to beans and rice. I asked her for a bite, and unfortunately, they were just as disappointing.
The only thing we genuinely enjoyed was the canned Coke. Our server never came back to check on us, though a busser did ask if everything was okay. I said we were fine. I’m not the type to make a scene or complain at the table, but I also wouldn’t return.
Given the overwhelming number of positive reviews, this experience was surprising. Overall, we were very disappointed with the food.

Came here as a recommendation with some of my husband work friends from Italy and NY. We ordered a variety of main dishes and absolutely love them! I personally got the steak fajitas and very much enjoyed them. The amount is even good to share if you both don’t over eat. Even though the Mint Lemonade was not on the menu they did make it and it was very refreshing. It also came with a cane sugar stick! I would highly recommend this place as it has good vibes and great food as well as service. Our server was an Argentinian man from Entre Ríos (im sorry I don’t remember his name) but he was excellent and very on top of all! Thank you! Will recommend and come back as well

Today I walked about a mile each way for lunch at Coyote Taqueria. The 4.9 star Google Map rating is well deserved. If you know me then you know that I enjoy Horchata….there’s was good, not exceptional…The red hot sauce did little for me but the spicier green was good.
My entre was Yucatan style pork tacos.
They were excellent with each bite tasting better than the one before.

The biggest letdown was the mis-billing: we were charged for premium liquors that were offered without mentioning the higher price, nearly doubling the drink cost. They did correct it with a discount and even gave us a “next visit” coupon.
Overall, not a great spot for vegetarians, and be sure to check your bill. Otherwise, sweet service and cozy seating.

Gonzalo was great, had good recommendations and the food was delicious. Got guacamole, ribeye tacos and shrimp tacos. Perfect amount of food. The margaritas were so refreshing. Kiwi marg was the perfect mix of classic and fruity but not too sweet. Will definitely come back! Photo is the shrimp tacos.

Wow! If you want flavor in your tacos please go here!! We ordered the La Rosa de Guadalupe and Chicken Tacos a La Mexicana, then they brought us a Carnitas taco out to try and let me tell you all 3 had the most amazing flavored meat. The spicy margarita was exceptional as well!Evaristo was the most amazing waiter, so kind and patient. If in Miami again we will back!!!
