Having one person standing there play some orders, especially with an attitude, when there’s two lanes is extremely inefficient and rather ridiculous. Because he’s standing there everybody assumes that the other lane is not open and they’re bypassing it. Which means they’re waiting even longer to give their order.
And you know what you want he stops you and then says what’s the name. Dude you don’t need to know my name. Just take my order. There’s only one lane where people are doing anything and we’re in line. The name is unnecessary. Especially because when I got to the window to pay and gave her my name, she still read my order back to me.
Also, not one time did anybody actually tell me how much the order was. I just blindly handed over my back card not knowing the total.
The food, as always, was consistently good. But also, as usual lately, the amount of fries that come with a six finger plate, which I was supposed to get double out because I did not get colesslaw, is getting less and less. The chicken fingers used to be really big. These days they are also incredibly small.
A single $14 plate used to be enough for two meals or for 2 people to share.
Now it’s $14 and it’s enough food for one person and your dog to have one or two. They are almost chicken nuggets with how small they are.
I fell in love with Zaxby’s in Tuscaloosa. I’m starting to realize the romance is over.
I’m holding a WHOLE chicken finger, and I have not eaten any fries yet in that photo.
One thing worth mentioning, though, is that even though the app offers a curbside pickup option, this location doesn’t actually have any curbside parking spots yet. So the feature is there in the app, but there’s nowhere to park for it, which makes it a little confusing if you’re expecting a true curbside setup.
As for the food, most of it was good. The wet chicken wings were a bit dry and tougher than expected, but my kiddo and my wife really enjoyed their strips and sandwich. The cheese curds were also very tasty, so no complaints there. Overall, the quality was better than what I’ve had from some other locations.
The only downside was the wait time. I’m not sure if it was because I asked for no pickles on my sandwich or if something else slowed things down, but it took about 25 minutes for my order to be ready. While I was waiting, I watched several people walk in, order at the register, and get their food in just a few minutes. Meanwhile, my mobile order just sat in the queue. It was a little frustrating, especially since ordering ahead is supposed to save time.
Still, the app worked correctly this time, the food was mostly good, and the location seems to be settling in. If they can get the mobile order timing more consistent — and add actual curbside spots to match what the app offers — this could become a solid go‑to spot.
