Amia was an amazing server! She was attentive and excelled at taking care of us. She gave us recommendations and kept my water refilled. 🙂 Currently, Thursday’s are half off steaks. Our steaks were ordered medium rare and both came out medium rare, this is sometimes a feat for restaurants. Both dishes were very good. The wedge salad was tasty and the Crème brûlée was excellent. The atmosphere is good; it hints at expensive and maybe romantic with a large glass encased fire “place/pit” and has city views with floor to ceiling windows. But then there are two large TV’s with sports on as soft elevator/jazz music plays. None of that detracted from the service or the food and they are currently remodeling. Overall we will definitely be back.

Apart from needing 2 different elevators to get here from the parking garage, this place was really nice. I don’t get out much; honestly it gives me anxiety. I got here during a time when it was completely empty and got to chat with Sarah the bartender. Eventually, my party arrived and Sarah did not disappoint. She was attentive, caring, honest and quick. I can only hope she’s there the next time I go! The Espresso Martini was delicious. The burger was amazing and the fries were so crisp and crunchy. Looking forward to taking my husband for Date Night, however it worked perfectly for our Ladies Luncheon. Make reservations as people do come in!

Review for their holiday Nine Zero One Igloo Bar – had pretty high hopes and we all left pretty disappointed. Honestly felt compelled to leave a review in hopes it could stop at least one person from helping The Fontaine pay their rent. Because a whopping $241 cost for 8 people with a website using photos sort of implying you’ll see the “plaza lights” might leave you just as bitter as we all did.

Service was kind- however informed us of things that I did not see on our reservation. After already zipping up our igloo and realizing we will actually NOT be seeing any lights. We were then also informed that as a “rule” they don’t allow different tabs. So everyone will be forced to split the check evenly whichever way you have it, including food! So people who are sober or not hungry won’t have a choice. You then sit around with condensation drops falling on your heads and face, circled around a small Ikea table wondering “now what?”

You’ll then sip your “artisan hot cocoa” which is literally cocoa made with water- not milk btw – with a splash of cinnamon to make it “artisan” left for you in a thermos. Did I mention this was a $241 dollar experience? The drinks were fine, the food was also…fine? Creme Brulee tasted like straight ghee and not custard, the brownie is not warmed, the smores dip came hot and was the groups favorite- but just a note the chocolate is a bitter melt or dark chocolate taste. Which wasn’t bad but not really the creamy milk chocolate smores you’d imagine.

If you come looking for a really Christmas themed, delicious and enthralling experience. This is not it. You will remember it based solely on the good times you make, with the glass half full mentality you laugh about with the group you go with. And if you’re looking for the “igloo” experience I would encourage looking into other KC locations that I am unsure I can name in a review. But they do exist at 1/3 the cost and don’t pay for better SEO as The Fontaine obviously does when searching for “KC Igloo” while making it clearly not easy to leave a SPECIFIC review of this SPECIFIC activity/location they are gouging people for.

I just want to say that the staff at Nine Zero One is by far THE BEST I have ever encountered. I used a lovely room within the restaurant to decorate for my dad’s proposal to his now fiance. From the first call speaking with Irene, she made sure everything was taken care of. Cara, our waitress went above and beyond! Not just with helping me with the proposal but with serving us during dinner. The way she answered our questions about the menu items was top tier. She was so patient and kind. The front of house ladies that were at the hostess desk were also so very helpful. You all have a wonderful staff. We felt taken care of the entire time. Thank you all for making our night magical.

P.S, the sause on those Italian Smoked Wings is addictive. Please bottle and sell it.

My bf and I came here for restaurant week.. Was disappointed for the cost of the food vs quality. The appetizers were good (crab cake and wings). The steak was suppose to be medium and was extremely rare.. Like purple. The burnt ends in the Mac n cheese weren’t great. The atmosphere has the potential to be really good, but it is odd that there were TVs in the restaurant, pop music playing, and servers wearing crocs. All for my tab to be $150+ tip. Was confused about the theme of this restaurant.

Beautiful place! Wonderful atmosphere. Our server Kelsey C. was super sweet and attentive. I always go with her recommendations. She is super down to earth. We came on our birthdays and she made sure we felt extra special and taken care of. Our birthday desserts were super cute and festive. Just like her! She added the most adorable touches to my mocha latte with caramel drizzle. We love coming here. It’s our new favorite place! 5 star food, service and atmosphere. What more could you ask for?

We visited on a weekday and reserved two igloos. They were not located next to each other. One never warmed up at all, and the second would heat briefly before the heater shut off, leaving it cold again. The hot chocolate was served cold, and even after requesting a fresh one that was “just brewed,” it arrived only lukewarm. The cookies were cold, hard, and tasted freezer burned. The ordered food was just okay, but not worth the prices.

On a positive note, the drinks and mocktails were good. The overall experience has great potential, but it would benefit significantly from more attention to the small details—especially temperature and quality.

Also, they add a rather large service charge, so don’t be shocked.

we got the Margareta Flat ($16) bread as the appetizer

Cheese was kinda chew and came off in chunks and was kinda bland. Flatbread was good and flavorful.

Mom got The chicken Alfredo, stated it was a little salty. Maybe a little spicy

Dad got some type of shrimp bowl, says it’s good

I got the steak, cooked well, good potatoes and asparagus

Vibe: It did get kinda loud but it’s a bar. Good modern music.

our server, Kayla, was friendly, prebussed, was attentive

overall the time our food was brought out was a little slow but it was pretty good experience

For KC Restaurant Week, 901 has a must try menu! Course 1, crab cake is the clear winner. Loved the crunchy outside and the tasty sauce. Lots of crab! Course 2, Surf n Turf was my choice. Melt in the mouth steak, blackened shrimp had perfect spice! The seafood pasta dish looked fabulous with plenty of meat. The salmon dish had a fabulous sauce. Course 3, creme brulee has a layer of vanilla bean on the bottom, which makes it! The chocolate cake was very popular at other tables, and seemed to be the favorite option. We had an attentive server that made our experience complete! I highly recommend trying this menu!

The Fontaine hotel is one of my favorite spots to stay at when I’m in the city, and I have been waiting to experience the igloos for about a year. Booked one for my birthday this year. On arrival, Hostesses was a little rude. We arrived 30 minutes early, so we sat in the dining area with a buzzer. Host made it clear it was self-service if we wanted anything. Once inside the igloo, our server explains how the evening will go, and she left and returned quickly because our igloo was dirty. There was food on the floor chairs with crumbs yuck. She apologized and came back to get things cleaned up. Our experience wasn’t bad. However, it was a bit of a letdown. I expected better customer service from the host and cleanliness from the restaurant bar. The drinks were good. And I enjoyed the atmosphere once inside the igloo.
