Build your own taco shrimp tacos and side cilantro rice had no taste or flavor at all party of six all had the same conclusion no taste portions were good. Service was very quick and friendly. Definitely not worth the money spent. Probably won’t return a second time..

I ordered the fish tacos with a side of corn and it comes with tortilla chips. I enjoyed the tacos, and the slaw that comes on them is really good, but for the price, you should really get more fish per taco. I ran out halfway through both tacos and ended up with just a coleslaw taco. The waitress said you can order extra protein, so I recommend doing that if you get the fish or shrimp tacos.
Otherwise, very good. The watermelon Margherita was nice and refreshing on a hot day.

Would leave a 0 star if I could. Came in with my family on a Sunday to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday with my two YOUNG daughters (age 2 and 5 months). I came in first to check out the line, which was long. The employee told me they moved the line inside due to the rain, but said the line is moving quickly. I called my husband who was getting the kids out of the car with my in-laws and decided to grab a table while I waited for them. The employee then came over to tell me I can’t hold a table bc it’s first come first served, so the people in front of me in line should get the table. Mind you everyone in front of me had multiple people who could’ve easily held a table for them as well. If it’s first come first serve, the employee shouldn’t even be manning anything what is this a reservation steakhouse? No?. Then my family came to the door, mind you my mother law is BLACK and the same girl who told me to come inside to get out of the rain told my husband, my two young daughters, and in-laws TO WAIT OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. Absolutely will never be returning to this crap of a place. Do not go unless the color of your skin is white.

Food was Amazing. Best taco place we’ve had in awhile. They have a lot to choose from, and even a raw ahi tuna taco. This was my fave. We had the ahi tuna taco, the chorizo taco, and the steak tacos. Free queso on the side, and a chicken quesadilla. All of this was definitely worth writing home about.
Do recommend and will return for more tacos.

I have been to numerous Mexican restaurants and I have never wanted to write a Google review for any of them, until now. The food at Taco Mama of Winston is incredible. I ordered 2 Sizzler Tacos and my wife got 2 as well and they were absolutely wonderful!!! Fresh is what my wife kept saying about what she was tasting and I just loved how well the steak was cooked and seasoned. The Tortilla chips and salsa were excellent as well. We also got a side of Mac n’ cheese that I honestly was surprised at how good it was . . . . just great food all round. Will be back again very soon.

Went on a Tuesday for lunch. This is probably the best beef taco hardshell I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. They have an excellent menu of tacos, Burritos, burrito bowls, and quesadillas. I had the special taco lunch (2 beef tacos, a side, tortilla chips and salsa). The taco beef was fresh and delicious and so were the toppings. Salsa was A+. Chips were light, airy and not greasy. Service was great. Restaurant was clean and bright with order at counter and sit down seating. Bathroom was clean. Highly recommend.

Always get these guys for take out. Probably gotten 100 take out orders and this is the time they forgot to send some cheese dip home. When I went back they hooked us up with a few gift cards and the cheese dip. Wasn’t a big deal at all but their customer service is so good that I was just super impressed with their whole operation. Best authentic Mexican food in the area and the ambiance there is just amazing. Keep doing your thing Taco Mama we appreciate you guys!

I ordered the Happy Family meal last night (11/6/2025). The food wasn’t bad but I do have a few issues with somethings.
1. The beans were entirely too salty, uneatable salty!
2. The cilantro rice lack cilantro, mainly seem like plain rice that was also undercooked, kind of hard.
The rest of the meal were fine, the ground beef could have used more seasoning but no big deal there. Whatever that green salsa was, it is delicious and has a good kick (spicy), chicken had good flavor and the lettuce and tomatoes seem to be very fresh! The queso was delicious as well as were the chips.
Overall the food was good and the main issue really was the salty beans.

Taco mama is like another Moe’s southwest grill I would say.
I’ve dined in multiple times and have tried to really get a real feel for authenticity but haven’t been able to do so at Taco Mama. I’m really bothered by the closing indefinitely of the authentic Mexican restaurant ( Luna Playa ) not too far from taco mama. I really do miss Luna Playa a whole lot, a restaurant that I could go in and actually see a good number of Hispanic people sitting at tables enjoying a good authentic meal!!
