Just had lunch at Tony’s steakhouse in Silver Cliff. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in the area !
The steak sandwich covered in grilled onions and blue cheese, in house made chips, and a side salad. Everything was prepared perfect and to top it off an awesome bloody Mary.
What made all even better was our server Elise. She was so welcoming and just a sweetheart !
Good job Tony’s we will definitely be back !!

I want to like this place, but after 2 different experiences, 3 years apart the result being similar, it’s not a place I would look forward to returning much. Unfortunately, there’s not many options in this area. *Caveat: the restaurant is split in two. Kind of a pizzeria on one side and steakhouse on the other.
Entry hallway is lined with lots of photos of veterans as a memorial. It’s great they support the troops so much.
2022: 3 of us had a pizza on that side of the building. Food was quite good, but service was poor. It took about an hour to get our food.
2025: Steakhouse side: The good: Food is pretty dang good. Wings are huge and very tasty. Burger was above average. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Seating area is part country cowboy bar, part high class steakhouse. The bad: While we were seated within 2 minutes, it took over 10 min for a server to come over. When she did, there was no “Hello”, no “welcome to xyz restaurant”, no “my name is _____”. She (younger blonde girl) walked up behind us at the table, and fairly quietly said “What can I get you to drink?”. I replied with a hello and a smile, and got a blank affect. 3 people in our party. We asked if we could order everything at once, and she said okay. Other server was a mid-aged brunette and tried to help our server out. There were only 4-5 parties of 2-3 people seated when we arrived around 5pm on a Wednesday. Food came out eventually and it was good food, and we really enjoyed it. Problem is that everything took way longer than it should have. Need a drink refill, took 10 min. Ask for a condiment while your food was hot, took at least 5 min. After finishing eating, it took 20 min to get our bill. We did not eat slow and from entry to exit, we spent 2 hours at this place… getting 10 wings & 3 burgers.
I would order take out if you they give you a concrete time it will be ready. They just take ‘mountain town not-in-a-hurry’ way too literally. This place has great potential. With quicker service and engaged staff it would be 4-5 stars.

Not impressed! Salad was nothing special, chicken breast was dried out & it was $18. Husband had fried chicken special for $21 & the chicken was way over cooked! Biscuit was dry. Probably won’t eat here again. Very disappointed!

Among the many burgers found here, Tony’s Steak & Tavern is the best in Westcliffe, hands down! I cheffed mine up a bit; sautéed onions, jalapeño and mushrooms and it was delivered perfectly as ordered…thanks Chef Josh! Service was fabulous, as usual…thanks Missy! TS&T is now my “burger fix” go-to. Check them out! – Chef Chuck

I wish I could give 10 Stars it deserves it. The filet mignon was so tender and flavorful. The sauteed onions and mushrooms portobello mushrooms. Rosemary garlic butter sauce I wish I had taken pictures so you could see. The service Hayley was great. She was very friendly and answered all of our questions. My son had the giant ribeye I knew I couldn’t eat that much he said it was wonderful he almost went caveman on it. His girlfriend had the chicken fried steak and it looked amazing also. Never lose that chef!

Service was great. Food not good. 2nd time here, have not been impressed. Got the Fried chicken special. Way over cooked and dried out. They tried to make it right and didn’t charge me for it. Still not a good dinner. Great waitress.

Listen, I try not to leave negative reviews unless I think things can change. This review is based on my experience on the 8 Aug 2024, which was my second visit. On my first visit, I ordered the Elk Strip. The menu says that the chef recommends ordering that item Medium Rare (which is not my way), and I did, but I did not enjoy it. They were brand new and service wasn’t smooth. Just because I don’t like something on the menu doesn’t mean the restaurant is bad, and I am excited for Westcliffe to have a good steakhouse.

Around 4:30 PM, we sat a table for 3 and were left without so much as a water for 20 minutes. They would continue to sit people while we waited for anyone to take a drink order. The menu states that steak service begins at 4 PM, so I recognize that may be an awkward time, but the place was otherwise open. A server finally came by to get our drink orders, which we took the opportunity to also order our entrees. I ordered the 16 oz boneless ribeye rare (which is my way, though I recognize that most people would prefer a ribeye medium rare) with a side salad, my partner ordered a baseball steak medium well, and our friend ordered a baseball steak medium rare. My partner noted that she really enjoyed the dinner rolls here, and the server asked if she’d like to add another to the order. My partner agreed.

Drinks came soonish but we waited another 15 minutes or so before a bowl of 3 warm dinner rolls were deposited in front of us, with no plates or butter to accompany them. I attempted in earnest to get the attention of anyone who would make eye contact with me, but everyone kept turning away until my partner, out of frustration, finally stood up and asked someone for plates and butter, which my partner then had to carry back to the table. Down 3 steps. Because they gave them to her, they didn’t bring them to the table. I would then receive my salad shortly thereafter.

15 or so minutes after the dinner rolls arrived, the entrees arrived. Our friend’s baseball steak was served medium, which he declined to say anything about. My partner’s baseball steak was served Well Done. She was not going to say anything about it, but an entire corner of the steak was charred to an inedible state. She was given $5 off of the ticket. My steak was delivered medium (pink center, thick grey lines). When I mentioned it to our server, I said I was comfortable eating it, but that I was disappointed. She insisted on showing the chef, whom she said was receptive to these comments.

When she returned with my plate she informed me that the chef had said he cooked it to 115 degrees. The chef would hand-deliver a single steak and tell me that he had only cooked it to 100 degrees. It was nicely rare, the way I like it. I didn’t end up finishing my steak because I’d filled up on the salad, vegetables, and baked potato along the way. No one would end up coming back to check if I was satisfied with the steak.

Absolutely none of this would matter if this was at a lower price point. I’m not ignorant to economic conditions and how that affects food pricing, but we’re all feeling it. You can’t sell food at these prices and provide this kind of experience. It would take another 20 minutes after my steak would arrive before anyone would come ask if we wanted dessert and we just wanted the check. We paid and left. Total ticket time from sit to stand: 1h50m.

I want this place to be successful. Tony’s Mountain Pizza is one of my favorite places in Westcliffe. I would love to have a great steak experience available, even at a premium price tag. But this ain’t it. Is the service any different on the Pizza side? I feel like it is. Better, actually. And the prices are easier to swallow.

More specifically, no charred steak should make it through the pass. I don’t care about what temperature you cook my steak to if you’re not delivering the doneness I ordered. Debating it with me isn’t going to uncook the steak. And simply put, you cannot ask these prices for this kind of service. I hope Tony’s will do better next time.

I only chose five stars because there’s not an option for 10 stars! The bison and Santa Fe burgers were ginormous and delicious and oh so flavorful! Also, please please please make sure that you do not go another day without trying the cheesecake! Our taste buds will not stop thanking us.

We are just leaving, but it seems like they’re going to have some fantastic. Live music too! It doesn’t get better than this!
