I love the new takeover! Excellent in every way. The bartender Katie is a gem! So funny, friendly, and knowledgeable about the drinks. I had a perfect Old-Fashioned.
I had the spinach artichoke dip and it was amazing! The new owners, Jayne and Travis have made this such a cozy setting where you feel like you matter. I will definitely be back…..a lot!

Chef Hamm was a pleasure to meet. The atmosphere is very speak easy upscale vibe with wonderful decor and ambience. The seasonal cocktails I tried fit the vibe and atmosphere perfectly. The quality of these cocktails was the best I have had in Sanford. Chef Hamm is a mixologist that perfected these drinks. They were as beautiful as they were tasty. Drinks: Sunrise 75, Old Gingerbread House, Maple Esspressotini, and Vanilla Walnut Old Fashioned.

I went to brunch there a few weeks ago and totally enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the bartender and chef very friendly. I sat counter side and watched the woman chef cook my eggs fresh in a sizzling cast iron skillet using a convection oven. I thought that was pretty ingenious.
I returned this past Sunday and enjoyed the fish and grits with my fish being cooked fresh the same way. Hearing the sizzle of that cast iron made my heart smile. Both experiences were very enjoyable. The drinks were a hot too. I’m planning on returning soon.

Pastry Rating is a PERFECT 10! Highly recommend their pastries. Very Yum!
Customer Service Rating is 8 out of 10. Pretty good overall.
Food Quality, 4 out of 10. Here’s my experience. The food was too expensive for soggy rice and cheap shrimp. In fact, the shrimp had a lingering refrigerator flavor. Gross! I’m just happy I didn’t get food poisoning after eating the lunch special of the day.

This was my wife and my first time here. It’s open Thursday to Sat. We tried three different dishes and enjoyed them all. They have great options for if your trying to eat on the healthier side (we had a salmon dish), or a more hearty meal (enjoyed items with beef and another with biscuits and chicken). All quality fresh ingredients, with great flavors and good protions. We had a mixed drink that was to our liking. I would bring my
kids here for a meal if they were not in school. Atmosphere was great, open space with a more intimate area toward the back side, full bar, light music playing, an enjoyable place. The service was friendly and on top of it all as well. We will be back.

This hole in the wall is great for cocktails, and offers food as an added gig, but, it has no kitchen. All food is microwaved. I guess the food is made in a central kitchen nearby and transported to the bar? Kind of disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and grits, not knowing that it was going to be microwaved. There has to be transparency in dining, and this is a deceptive practice I would never have expected from Chef Hamm. The drink was heavenly, with a touch of lavender. The shrimp on the grits was kind of cold and that is what made me think that something was up with the food order. I walked around to ask for another plate with hot shrimp, and I saw a black woman microwaving food. My heart sank. What is the point of even complaining? As far as service, there is none. It is pretty much self-service. You go to the bar and order both drinks and food. I live an hour away, so to drive here just for drinks is not really in the future. If it had an actual kitchen and Chef Hamm cuisine had a chance to be showcased, then I would make the trip. But not for microwaved food.

Totally enjoyed ourselves at Libations 139 for Chef Ham’s Destination Travel Brunch Series. A group of us that totaled 7-9 visited during the European Tour, Caribbean and Korean cuisine. We tried EVERYTHING on the menu, TWICE. We were served a delicious shrimp & grits, kimchee fried rice, pork belly sandwich, chicken & waffles and a wonderful mocktail or cocktail for those who love spirits. I forgot the name of the vegetarian dish, but my friends who are vegetarian loved it. The bar tender, he was amazingly friendly and sociable. Chef Shauna visited our table to make sure the food was acceptable. When we suggested we needed a hint more sauce she gladly obliged and asked for feedback since this was something new. I believe a lot of places share kitchens now and the chef made sure our food was fresh and at the right temperature. Our group is very opinionated and outside of wishing for a pillow and blanket after a lovely brunch we were extremely pleased. We will gladly make the trip again from Greensboro and Knightdale. Oh and the atmosphere felt very relax and the restaurant was very clean.

Ordered old fashion at the bar, the chef had to leave his station to make it. Way too much simple syrup, 2 squeezes at Separate times. He put an Orange slice versus an orange twist in the glass. No muddling with the Bar cherry. The small chunk of ice, Or lack there of melted in the glass.

What a great surprise. A great vibe, relaxing, clean, friendly and the food and drinks were delicious. The owner is so creative and works hard to please his customers. He has built a beautiful atmosphere in this old building with tiny ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. This place is worth the trip will not disappoint. Ask about his Biscuits and brunch!
